The Association of Artists and Designers in Wales (AADW) was founded in 1974, to support artists and designers to prepare exhibitions; it set up regional branches, including the Mid Wales Branch (formed 1975). The Branch was later re-named the Ceredigion Branch. The Association of Artists and Designers in Wales was replaced in 1992 by the Association of Visual Arts in Wales, which became inactive in 1994 and was dissolved in 1998.
