Letters to George Roberts,

Three letters, 1822, 1824, and undated [1820], from John and Mary Roberts, Diosg [Llanbryn-mair], i.e. the Reverend John Roberts and his wife, Mary, to his brother, the Reverend George Roberts, Ebensburg, and his wife, Jane, with a note also to Rees Morgan. The subjects mentioned (in chronological order rather than order of binding) include [1820], the death of Richard Williams, Weeg, [Llanbryn-mair], and of [Thomas Edwards, Llanerfyl], John Roberts's answer to a book by Thomas Jones of Denbigh, and two bequests by [Thomas Edwards], one for the purpose of building a chapel in Nant-yr-eira; 1822, their feelings on seeing John Evans, together with the articles and letters he brought from the addressees, Tommy's future, an assembly at Blaenycoed near Carmarthen, where the writer preached to a vast audience, and the friendly behaviour towards him of the minister there, Mr. Jones of Trelech; and 1824, payment to Griffith Rowland of money for William Tibbot and George Roberts, affairs at Llan-uwchllyn (Michael Jones), appointments made at the [Newtown] Academy, the cause at Nantyreira, Samuel [Roberts]'s progress, and stanzas of verse by him transcribed from Y Dysgedydd, September 1823.

Lists compiled by J. Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro') from the manuscripts of John Phillips, Glandwr-isaf, parish of Llanfyrnach, co. Pembroke, of sermons preached largely at Hebron Congregational Chapel, 1826-1879, and of Roger Grifiths, Kile (Cilau)-isaf; parish of Llandysilio East, co. Carmarthen, of sermons preached at Nebo Congregational Chapel, 1883-1887. At the end are particulars, also from a notebook of Roger Griffiths, of collections and disbursements at Nebo, 1883-1886. The lists have been recorded partly on the dorse or blank spaces of a printed National Memorial to the Right Hon. The Earl of Rosebery, K.G., Premier, 'for arresting the growth of European armaments' [c. 1894-1895], returns of March School Board, 1897, forms of Statistical Returns of the Sunday School Union, 1900-1901, and a printed notice of meetings of Marsh and Chatteris Federation of the Evangelical Free Churches, 1903.

A commonplace book of John Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro'; 1835-1919), Congregational minister at March, Cambridgeshire, etc. The volume, begun in 1907, includes verses entitled 'Deucanmlwyddiant Rhydyceisiad, cyfarfod dathliad, 26 Awst, 1907' by Jonathan N. Davies ('Carnalaw'; 1833-1912), Liverpool; a list of members of Rhydyceisiaid Congregational Church, Carmarthenshire, 1803-17; extracts from accounts of Glandŵr Congregational Church, Pembrokeshire, 1723-60; a list of the themes and texts of sermons preached at the bicentenary services of Rhydyceisiaid Congregational Church, 1907; transcripts of hymns by the Reverend Lewis Thomas, Bwlch-sais, Llanfyrnach (d. 1745), first minister of Glandŵr Congregational Church; extracts from a manuscript which includes notes of sermons by Lewis Thomas; holographs and press cuttings of poetry, and translations of poetry, by 'Clwydwenfro', 1908-10; notes relating to the relationships of family members of 'Clwydwenfro'; a list of baptisms at Glandŵr Congregational Church, 1750-9; a biographical note on Jonathan N. Membership of Hebron, Pen-y-groes, and Nebo,

An extensive register in the hand of J. Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro') containing an annotated list of members of Hebron Congregational Church from 2 November, 1850, when Simon Evans accepted the pastorate, to 1902, and similar lists of baptisms, admissions, admissions by transfer, dismissions, exclusions, restorations, marriages, burials, etc., by Simon Evans during his pastorates of the Congregational churches of Pen-y-groes (1844-1856), Hebron (1850-1885), and Nebo (1850-1885). The volume was completed at March, co. Cambridge, 17 April, 1903. The lists are written on the dorse of a printed parliamentary voters' register for the parish of Merthyr Tydfil, 1872.

Holograph sermon notes by the Reverend Simon Evans, minister of the Congregational churches of Pen-y-groes, parish of Whitchurch-in-Cemais, co. Pembroke, and of Hebron, parish of Llanglydwen, and Nebo, parish of Cilymaenllwyd, both in co. Carmarthen. NLW MS 11689A ('9fed Bregeth Lyfr Cymreig') was compiled at Tyddyn, parish of Whitchurch-in-Cemais, during the period 1852-1854, and NLW MS 11690A ('18 Bregeth Lyfr Cymreig') at Caeraeron, parish of Llanfyrnach, co. Pembroke, during 1873-1876.
