Roedd Robert Evans (Cybi, 1871-1956), bardd, llenor a llyfrwerthwr, yn frodor o Langybi, sir Gaernarfon. Ganwyd ef 27 Tachwedd 1871, yn fab i Thomas a Mary Evans. Cafodd ei addysg yn ysgol y cyngor, Llangybi, ac aeth i weithio mewn ffermydd lleol am gyfnod, cyn dod yn bostman a gwerthwr llyfrau. Ysgrifennodd lawer o farddoniaeth, a gyhoeddwyd yn Odlau Eifion (Pwllheli, 1908), Awdl Bwlch Aber Glaslyn (Pwllheli, 1910), a Gwaith Barddonol Cybi (Pwllheli, 1912), a chystadlodd yn rheolaidd mewn eisteddfodau. Cyhoeddodd hefyd gasgliadau o waith beirdd Eifionydd a llyfrau ar hanes lleol, yn ogystal รข'i golofnau papur newydd. Bu farw yn Llangybi ar 16 Hydref 1956.
