Llwydiarth estate

Llwydiarth estate comprises property in p's Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa (t's Llwydiarth, Fach-wen, Cadwnfa, Garth Uchaf, Cefncleisiog, Rhiwlas, Halfen, Dolwar, Farchwel, Nantycyndy, Llaethbwlch), Llangadfan (t's Cyffin, Bryngwaeddan, Llangadfan, Blowty, Moelfeliarth), Llanfair Caereinion (t's Gwenynog, Llanfair, Pen-tyrch, Dol-ged, Llanloddian Isaf and Uchaf, Rhiwhiriarth, Rhosaflo, Peniarth, Bryn-glas, Brynelen), Llangynyw (t's Cynhinfa, Gwenynog), Llanerfyl (t's Cefn-llys-isaf and Cefn-llys-uchaf, Cnewyll, Craen, Coetalog), Manafon (t. Dwyriw), Llanwyddelan (t. Treganol), Garthbeibio, Llanwddyn, Llanllugan and Welshpool, all in co. Mont. Llanfair Caereinion tithes are included to R70/7 (1815); for Llanfair Caereinion tithes, 1815-1861, see collection entitled Llanfair Caereinion Tithes. Chief rents for p's Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa (t's Rhiwlas, Dolwar, Cadwnfa), Llanwddyn (t. Garthbwlch) and Llansanffraid [?-ym-Mechain], co. Mont., are included from R99 to R116 (1844-1861). Collectors: E. Lewis, 1809-1815, Thomas Hartley, 1816, Samuel Hughes, 1818-1834, David Jones, 1835-1857, Joseph Owen Jones, 1857-1861. After 1861, property in p's Llangadfan, Llanfair Caereinion, Llanerfyl, Garthbeibio, Llanwddyn and Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa, will be found in R117/2c (being a rental of settled estates in cos Denb. and Mont.), then in the collection entitled Farm and Cottage Rents. Vale of Clwyd/Ruthin estate

The collection comprises property in p's Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, Llanelidan, Derwen, Llanfwrog, Ruthin, Llanynys, Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd, Gyffylliog, Llandyrnog, Denbigh, Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch, Llangwm, and Llanhychan, co. Denb. RA28 includes a survey, late 1850s-early 1860s of the above collection (giving field names, details of acreages, and annual rent due), together with a plan of part of Plas-y-ward farm sold to the Denbigh, Ruthin & Corwen Railway Co., 1860. Collectors: John Williams, 1809-1829, William Turnor, 1830-1832, Thomas Turnor, 1833, Thomas and Walter Turnor, 1834-1837, Walter Turnor, 1838-1839, Thomas Turnor, 1840-1858, Nathan Burlinson, 1859-1861, Thomas Adey Cox, 1862, William Jones, 1863-1871, and Owen Hughes 1871-1879. From R116/3f (1860) onwards, only property in p's Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch, Denbigh, Llangwm and Ruthin remain. Ruthin estate fee farm rents as specified below are also contained in the series of Tithe, Chief and Fee Farm Rentals. Property in p. Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd and in Ruthin will also be found in R116/3d and R117/2c (being rentals of settled estates in cos Denb. and Mont.), then in the collection entitled Farm and Cottage Rents. Property in Llanfwrog, Llanynys, Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd and Llanhychan will not be found in the rentals described below, but in R116/3d and R117/2c, then in the collection entitled Farm and Cottage Rents. In 1879 (R135/1e) only property in p's Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch, Denbigh, Llangwm and Ruthin remains; in 1880 (R136/1e) only property in p's Denbigh, Llangwm and Ruthin remain; and from 1881 (R137/1e) onwards only property in p's Denbigh and Llangwm remains. Much Wenlock collection

The collection comprises property in p's Much Wenlock and Harley, Shropshire. Also details relating to Wenlock and Westwood tithes, and lists of limeburners. Collectors: Richard Collins, 1810-1838, Humphrey Hinton and Edward Jeffreys, 1839-1841, Humphrey Hinton, 1842-1847, and Edward Hinton 1848-1857.

Llansilin collection

The collection comprises property in p's Llansilin, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Llanarmon Mynydd Mawr, Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog, Llangadwaladr, Llansaffraid Glyn Ceiriog, co. Denb. Collectors: Samuel Lovatt, 1809-1837, David Jones, 1838, John Croxon, 1839-1851, Nathan Burlinson, 1851-1860. After 1860, property in p's Llansilin, Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog and Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, will be found in R116/3a and R117/2a (being rentals of estates in Shropshire and co. Denb. of which Sir Watkin Williams Wynn is seised in fee simple), then in the collection entitled Farm and Cottage Rents. Property in p. Trefarclawdd and Overley Hall Colliery payments

Contained in these payments are details relating to amounts of money paid to colliers, labourers, etc., at Trefarclawdd (in p. Oswestry, Shropshire) and Overley Hall collieries. Collectors: E. Llanfair Caereinion tithes

Containing details of tithes in p. Llanfair Caereinion, co. Mont., including t's Rhosaflo, Brynelen, Cil-yr-ych, Rhiwhiriarth, Llanloddian, Bryn-glas, Dol-ged, Llanfair, Gwenynog and Pen-tyrch. The dates of the volumes refer to the year for which the tithes are due, e.g. the 1815 tithes are detailed in R71/7, but were not necessarily collected in 1815. Oswestry, Selatyn (Brogyntyn) and Whittington, title deeds,

Title deeds relating to houses and lands in the parish of Oswestry and its townships, the township of Brogyntyn (Porkington) in Selatyn and in Berghill, Daywell and Hindford in the parish of Whittington. Many of the files refer to properties in various combinations of these places, arranged as follows: Whittington, 1435-1625; Oswestry, Selatyn (Brogyntyn) and Whittington, 1513-1568; Oswestry, Selatyn (Brogyntyn) and Whittington, 1529-1613; Selatyn (Brogyntyn), 1532-1574; Whittington (outsize folder), 1597-1735; Oswestry and Selatyn (Brogyntyn and Ifton Upton), 1598-1671; and the estate of John Jones, Whittington and Oswestry, 1671-1695. St Martin’s (Weston Rhyn), title deeds,

Title deeds for properties in the township of Weston Rhyn and parish of St Martin’s. Many of the deeds relate to the Trehowell estate of Richard ap Robert, which was sold to Watkin Kyffin of Glascoed in 1656. The files describe Cae Meddyg, Mays Weston, etc., 1456-1597; Tir y Maip, Mays Weston, Bryn Coch, etc., 1601-1613; Gwerglodd Sarne y Cwtta, Gweirglodd y Kay Newydd, etc., 1619-1640; purchase of Trehowell by Watkin Kyffin, 1647-1663; Morton, 1648-1701; and a messuage in Trehowel and Erwe, 1767-1809.

Expired tenancy agreements and associated papers, Wynnstay and Vale of Clwyd estates,

Mainly expired tenancy agreements and notices to quit tenancies from the main Wynnstay and Vale of Clwyd estates, for houses and lands situated in Cefn Mawr, Erbistock, Gresford, Llanarmon-yn-Ial, Llandysilio-yn-Ial, Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, Llangollen, Llanynys, Marchwiail, Ruabon, Ruthin and Wrexham, Denbighshire, and in Bangor [Is-coed] and Overton, Flintshire. There are 13 files of expired tenancy agreements, numbered 2a-757 (with gaps) dated 1847-1932; notices to quit at Lady Day 1864, dated 1845-1864; expired unnumbered tenancy agreements, 1856-1904; lists of tenancy agreements and notices to quit, 1863-1877; sporting leases, 1891-1930; and a certificate of safety and engagement for guarantee issued by the Manchester Steam Users’ Association, 1897.

Anglesey title deeds,

Sparse series of deeds for properties on Anglesey, which appear to have belonged to the estates of Chwaen and Glasinfryn. Bangor and Maenol Bangor title deeds ,

Loose deeds and original tied bundles relating mainly to properties purchased by Richard Gwynne from William and Piers Gruffith of Penrhyn, together with others acquired by Sir John Wynn and Moris Wynn of Gwydir. Title deeds concerning properties in the parish of Clynnog, Caernarfonshire, namely Tythyn y Kyme, Clynnog mills, Tythyn Jonet Gruffith and Tythyn Agnes, acquired by Richard Gwynne, 1518-1616, 1689; a messuage and lands in Brynbedde, 1519-1562; miscellaneous properties, 1539, 1600-1616; and Kay Davyd Lloyd, Kay Rhig and Kay yn y Serch, 1551-1570. Several of the deeds involve John ap David ap Howell ap Eignion and his son Maurice.
