A cliff showing characteristic basalt columnar jointing. These are believed to be the basalt columns in Los Alerces National Park visited by KW on Christmas eve 1968 - see 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991) page 181.

An unframed painting of cattle grazing beneath a yellow sky. The transparency has been mounted the wrong way round in comparison to how the image is printed in 'The Land & the Sea'. The transparency as a whole has a green cast.

[Mountains, trees & meadow]

Pale yellow grass in the foreground gives way to a stand of deciduous trees beyond which the fainter outlines of mountains can be seen.
