A fragment of a Book of Hours, containing the Office of the Dead (imperfect), 'commemoratio animarum', and a rubric and prayer before the Psalter of St Jerome.

A book of precedents,

Examples of deeds, entries in court rolls, patents, and other legal instruments collected by Edward ap Rys ap David, auditor of Powis, receiver of Chirk and Chirkland, circa 1509. The documents quoted relate to the lordships of Bromfield and Yale, Chirk and Chirkland, Oswestry, and Cowres, the boroughs of Holt and Beaumaris, and Oxfordshire. There are a few Welsh recipes and verses in the margins.

Walter Montagu was the second son of Sir Henry Montagu, 1st Earl of Manchester. Dated at the top of the manuscript, '28 Decembre 1677', and, on p. 26, '12 January 1678'.

A compendium of texts,

A compendium, [late 15th cent. x early 16th cent.], of works on astrology, medicine, sayings, Brut y Saeson, a short chronicle, Lives of Saints David and Gwenffrewi, Bonedd y Saint and other texts. The manuscript was previously ascribed to Gutun Owain (see Daniel Huws, Medieval Welsh Manuscripts (Aberystwyth, 2000), p. 190).

There are also a number of letters and other papers loose or pasted into the manuscript; these are described in detail by Bensley (see below). Peniarth MS 275 contains a copy of this manuscript made by Robert Vaughan.

'A Discourse or relation both of the ancient and moderne estate of the Principality of Wales, Duchie of Cornewall, & Earledome of Chester', being a copy of what appears to be a draft of The History of the Ancient and Moderne estate of the Principality of Wales ... by Sir John Dodridge, London: 1630.
There are verbal differences between the two texts and the manuscript has a second dedicatory epistle to the Queen.
