The file comprises mainly election addresses and leaflets issued by Labour candidates in Welsh constituencies during the June 1987 general election campaign, together with a few local government election addresses and other leaflets.

The file contains miscellaneous notes and papers, including many circulars, deriving from the Labour Party campaign in Wales during the June 1997 general election.

The group consists of correspondence, papers, press releases and press cuttings relating to the Labour Party campaigns in the following by-election contests: Brecon and Radnor, June 1985; Pontypridd, February 1989; Vale of Glamorgan, May 1989; Neath, April 1991; Monmouth, May 1991; and Islwyn, February 1995.

The series consists of policy and discussion documents, election literature, leaflets and pamphlets, National Executive Committee Statements, and memoranda produced and circulated by the Labour Party, 1943-1999; together with the published reports of the Party's National Executive Committee, 1973-1985, and typescript documents and circulars produced by the Labour Party and its committees and sub-committees, 1978-1981.
