A manuscript volume with the title 'AMRYW' in gold lettering on the spine. Written throughout by William Owen [-Pughe], the manuscript contains transcripts of parts of two older manuscripts, the one in the hand of Lewis Morris [B.M. Add. MS 14908, ff. 36-58], and the other in the hand of Owen Jones, 'Owain Myfyr' [B.M. Add. MS 15020, pp. 1-5, 7-12, 27-8, 33- 5, 44-5, 52-8, 67-70, 93-107, 109-15, 117-23]. The first item in the present manuscript, pp. 1-39, is a transcript of the Statute of Rhuddlan, 'Ystatus Rhuddlan yw hon. A.D. 1283', copied from Lewis Morris's manuscript, which is in turn a copy of a vellum manuscript in the Hengwrt library, which he transcribed in 1738 [i.e. Peniarth MS 41]. The remainder of the present manuscript is copied from B.M. Add. Miscellaneous papers and home-made booklets containing transcripts, lists, notes, memoranda, etc., in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') bound together in one volume. Pp. 1-64 contain transcripts of Welsh strict-metre poems attributed to Dafydd Benwyn, Siôn Ieuan ap Rhys Fychan, Llywelyn ap Hywel ap Ieuan ap Gronw 'o Lantrisant Misgyn', Iorwerth Hen, Dafydd Llwyd Mathau, Ieuan Du'r Bilwg, Owain ap Llywelyn ap y Moel y Pantri, Dafydd Hopcin 'o Blwyf y Coetty', Siôn Bradford, Rhys Morgan 'o Ben Craig Nedd', Gutto'r Glynn, Bedo Brwynllys, Syr Rhisiart Lewys, Siôn ap Hywel Gwynn, Rhisiart Iorwerth, Rhys Goch 'o Eryri', Ieuan Dyfi, Hopcin ap Thomas ab Einion, Dafydd ap Gwilym, and Hywel ap Dafydd ap Ieuan ap Rhys, with occasional notes on the poet and / or the poem attributed to Siôn Bradford. 'Gossodedigaetheu a Messureu y Deyrnas, Cantrevi a Chymydeu Kymry', being a list of hundreds, commotes and other geographical divisions within Wales. At the end of every division is a list of its castles.
The list of 'Cantreds and Commotes of Wales' (p. 5) agrees practically with the one in Peniarth MS 163.

A 'Copy of the Dedication of, and Preface to Sir Thomas Wiliems's Latin-British Dictionary', together with notes on the life and work of Dr John Davies, Mallwyd, and ballads, which include the works of Rowland Fychan of Caer-gai, Lewis Morris and Richard Abraham, written c. 1738 (see p. 2). Also including englynion to Robert Vaughan, Caer-gai by Dr John Davies; a translation by Dr Davies of Thomas Wiliems's dedication of his Dictionary to Sir Richard Wynne, Gwydir; and notes concerning Thomas Wiliems's Dictionary at Hengwrt, with a copy of its Preface (see Peniarth MS 228).

A manuscript containing 'A translation of the Triads ... by Mr Lewis Morris out of Mr. Vaughan of Hengwrt's copy ...', transcribed and corrected by Ieuan Fardd, 12 October 1773 (pp. 3-47); and a list of collections of Welsh manuscripts (pp. 81-87).
The volume also includes a list of proverbs needing correction or insertion in John Davies, Mallwyd's Dictionary (pp. 50-59); a 'catalogue of the works' of Llywarch Hen, Myrddin, Taliesin and Aneirin 'out of Moses Williams's collection' (pp. 73-80); an elegy to Humphrey Llwyd, author of the Breviary of Britain, by Lewis ap Edwart (pp. 87-95); etc.
