A facsimile manuscript in two parts mostly in the hand of William Watkin Edward Wynne. The first part comprises copies (some printed) of charters, public records, deeds, pedigrees, poetry, etc. of Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire interest, some of which are taken from transcripts made by Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt. The material includes records and pedigrees relating to the Wynn family of Peniarth; notes on the Maurice and Owen families of Clenennau, Penmorfa, Caernarvonshire, with related deeds possibly in the hand of William Maurice of Llansilin; deeds relating to the Porkington estate; an extent of the commote of Eifionydd, 1352; an extract from the Coroner's Rolls for Merionethshire, 1345; charters of Castell y Bere and Harlech Castle; pedigrees of Madog ap Dafydd of Hendwr, Llandrillo, Merionethshire; an ode to Einion ap Gruffydd of Corsygedol by Gruffudd Gryg; odes to Dafydd ab Ieuan ab Einion by Guto'r Glyn and Dafydd Nanmor; letters addressed to W. W. E. Wynne, the correspondents including Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain'); etc. The second part is also mostly in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne and again comprises material mainly of Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire interest, including pedigrees, correspondence, deeds, etc. relating to the Porkington estate and to the Maurice family and to the Wynne family of Glyn and Ystumcegid, Caernarvonshire; poetry relating to members of the Wynn family of Glyn by Huw Machno, Rhisiart Cynwal and others (one elegy translated into English); press cuttings taken from the Cambrian News, 1879; letters addressed to W. W. E. Wynne, the correspondents including Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain') and Joseph Morris; etc.

A copy of Charles Ashton: Gweithiau Iolo Goch gyda nodiadau hanesyddol a beirniadol (Croesoswallt, 1896), with annotations, some if not all by J. H. Davies. Inside the volume is a notebook probably in the autograph of Charles Ashton containing a list of the poems of Iolo Goch, with particulars of sources, etc., a shorter list in the autograph of D. Silvan Evans with a reference to a manuscript (then at Llanwrin, now Cwrtmawr MS 325) in the autograph of Wiliam Henri [sic] Mounsey, 1859, and a letter, [19]22, from Henry Lewis, Swansea to Principal [J. H.] Davies.

Inset at the end of the volume are transcripts of Montgomeryshire pedigrees, etc. Much of the material in the volume has been transcribed from other volumes now in the Cwrtmawr Collection (e.g. MSS 200, 222, 242 and 243) and there are references to such sources as 'un o lyfrau Maesglas Mallwyd' (transcribed in 1857) (p. 269), a manuscript in the hand of Robert Arthur (p. 342), 'Llyfr ym meddiant Lowri Jones' (p. 380), etc. A note pasted on the inside of the upper cover states 'This Vol. was copied by Owen Jones (brother of Myrddin Fardd) from a MS Vol. ... in the handwriting of Lewis Morris [Cwrtmawr MS 200] now at Bryntanad, Llanerfyl Montgomerys[hire] (Richards) E. Breese'. Owen Jones was for a short time a private tutor at BrynTanad (see The Dictionary of Welsh Biography). The spine is lettered 'Mannoethwy MSS'.

A manuscript volume containing a collection of transcripts made by William Owen [-Pughe] of Gogynfeirdd poetry, all published in The Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales..., Vol. 1 (London, 1801), pp. 189-216, 258-262, 265-268, 275-278, 354, although not in the same order. The poets whose works are represented in the manuscript are: Meilyr Brydydd, Gwalchmai ab Meilyr, Hywel ab Owain Gwynedd, Owain Cyfeiliog and Cynddelw Brydydd Mawr. The manuscript contains numerous footnotes which give variant readings as well as a few explanatory notes on the text. The footnotes contain references to the following sources 'MS.', 'Dr. T. In a note on the aforementioned 'title-page' (p. 199) Edward Williams claims to have transcribed this collection in 1799 from a manuscript in the possession of Siams Thomas of Maerdy Newydd, co. Glamorgan. Preceding and following the actual text of the collection are transcripts of a prefatory letter dated 1685 (pp. 201-06) and of the concluding note already referred to (p. 390) both of which are attributed to the Glamorgan scribe and copyist Thomas ab Iefan of Tre Bryn as compiler of the manuscript from which Edward Williams was allegedly copying (see TLLM, t. 172; IM, tt. 291-4). Pp. 391-477 contain a transcript of a collection, in alphabetical order, of over three thousand Welsh proverbs attributed to Cattwg Ddoeth ('Llyma Ddiarhebion Cattwg Ddoeth . . . sef yw hwnn Ail Lyfr y Gwyddfardd Cyvarwydd'). This collection, according to the aforementioned note at the end of the preceding section (p. 390) attributed to Thomas ab Iefan, had been compiled by the said Thomas from various sources and formed a continuation of the previous section. Edward Williams's claim with regard to the Siams Thomas volume is probably intended to apply to the contents of pp. 391-477 as well. The contents of pp. 199-390 have been published in The Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales . . ., vol. III (London, 1807), pp. 1-99.

A manuscript in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing a copy of Nennius's 'Eulogium Britanniæ' (ff. 1-57); notes relating to Nennius copied from a manuscript in the hand of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt (ff. 67-88); triads copied from a manuscript in the hand of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, by Lewis Morris in 1738, with marginal and intertextual notes (ff. 89-112), and from the Red Book of Hergest (ff. 137-152); 'Araith Iolo Goch' (ff. 114-116); poetry, the poets cited including Aneirin, Iolo Goch and Mabclaf ap Llywarch (ff. 119-157b); etc. On f. 189 is a table of contents in a later hand. On f. iv the title page reads 'Y Cynfeirdd Cymreig, Vol. II'.
This manuscript is the source of the text of Series I of the Triads in the Myvyrian Archaiology Vol. ii, pp. 1-22. The englynion at ff. 119-122b are practically the same as those in Myvyrian Archaiology, pp. 543-547, col. i, but that the arrangement is different. The text at f. 132 was copied in September 1758 from an autograph manuscript of Edward Lhuyd. The text at f. 154 verso was transcribed from Llyfr Coch Nannau (see Mostyn MS 144) 'and collated it with my brother Lewis Morris MSS'.

Two volumes of transcripts, [1758], compiled Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), subsequently bound as one volume. Part I (foliated 1-153) contains 'The Gododin an Heroic poem of the sixth Century transcribed from a Copy of Thomas Wiliams of Trefriw M.D., and the Works of Taliessin from Dr Davies of Mallwyd's hand, and other particulars wrote by the Revd Mr. Evan Evans' (f. 1) and includes transcripts of Llyfr Aneirin (ff. 5 verso-36), Llyfr Taliesin (ff. 37-126) and other manuscripts.
Part II (foliated 1-73) contains further poetry, by poets including Llywarch Hen, Iolo Goch, Dafydd ab Edmwnd and Gutun Owain (ff. 1-28, 34 verso-47); notes on Welsh orthography (following the cywydd beginning at f. 19); a list of poets from a manuscript of Dr John Davies (f. 39 verso); a copy of Sir Thomas Wiliems's Preface to his Latin-Welsh Dictionary (ff. 48-64); a letter, dated 26 January 1757, from Lewis Morris to 'Mr. Vaughan of Corsygedol' (ff. 65-69); a letter, dated 14 June 1755, from Richard Morris to the same Mr Vaughan, enclosing a copy of the Transactions of the Society of Cymmrodorion and referring to Lewis Morris and to Goronwy Owen (ff. 70-71); and a table of contents for Part I only, [?in the hand of Owain Myfyr] (f. 72).

Welsh proverbs collected by John Morgan which had been omitted from the Dictionary of Dr John Davies, Mallwyd. Also included in the manuscript are a series of the first couplets of Dafydd ap Gwilym's poems.

An imperfect manuscript consisting of thirty folios of uniform size and two smaller leaves, with the two halves of ? the lower cover of an early nineteenth century periodical or part publication, which at one time seems to have served as a protective covering, bound in at the beginning. A considerable part of the original manuscript appears to have been lost as the volume was described by the Reverend John Williams ('Ab Ithel'), circa 1856, as containing 'about 100 pages' (see L. James: Hopkiniaid Morganwg . . . (Bangor, 1909), p. 91). The former protective cover bears the inscription 'Llyfr Llanfihangel Iorwerth. Cywyddau amrafaelion. Siôn Cent hyd Dafydd Hopcin o'r Coetty. Englynion Eiry Mynydd, &c.', in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg'), and the contents consist of transcripts of Welsh verse mainly in strict metre. Dafydd Hopkin of Coety, co. Glamorgan is sometimes named as the copyist (see L. James: op. cit., p. 91; TLLM, tt. 229, 267; and IMCY, t. 139). Pages 1-27 are in the autograph of James Davies ('Iaco ab Dewi'); pp. 29-121 were 'wrote by J. Morgan' (p. 121); pp. 122-126 are in the hand of Samuel Williams; pp. 127-41, 144-153 are in the hand of W[illiam] Maurice; and p. 154 is in the hand of the Reverend Moses Williams.

'Y Llyfr hir or Mwythig', being a collection of five hundred and sixty-six cywyddau, etc. by various authors arranged into 'books' according to subject. The poems in each 'book' are numbered separately. The poets cited include Iolo Goch, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Siôn Cent, Iorwerth Fynglwyd, Bedo Brwynllys and Siôn Phylip. The volume is dated temp. James II (see p. 382). The text is followed by nine folios of index, arranged under authors' names, by Richard Morris. Following the index are three further poems (by Dafydd ap Gwilym, Siôn Cent and Dafydd ab Edmwnt) in the hand of the Reverend Samuel Williams.
The volume is in the same hand as Llanstephan MSS 47, 48 and the end of 164.
