A volume containing englynion and other poems mainly by Robert Davies (Bardd Nantglyn). Pages 1-60 are almost entirely in the hand of Robert Davies while the remainder of the volume is in that of William Owen [-Pughe]. In addition to the works of Robert Davies, some of which were published in his Diliau Barddas (Dinbych, 1827), the following poets are represented in the volume: W.O. [?William Owen-Pughe] (pp. 2-3), R. B. Clough (p. 86), W. Lleyn (p. 102), and ?Gwallter Mechain, [Walter Davies] (p. 125). Tune book, mid-nineteenth century, formerly in the possession of Daniel Jenkins of Blaenpennal, Cardiganshire, and perhaps compiled by him, containing hymn-tunes. Accompanying words, where present, are mainly in Welsh. The first section (ff. i-xi) includes an index and a few Welsh hymn texts, as well as further tunes.

R. Williams ('Tryfanwy'); poems entitled 'Gwlaw Sdiniog' and 'Cyfrinach y Tannau' by Robert Roberts ('Isallt'); an elegy on the death of Evan E. Owen, Assheton House, Ebenezer, 1883; a fragment of a song entitled 'Priodas yr Oen'; 'englynion' on Pont y Benglog taken from Tywysog Cymru, 15 Tach. 1832; English poems entitled 'The Burial of Abel', 'America', and 'Go Forward'; and selections from the writings of Rhys J. Two nineteenth-century tune books now joined together as one volume, with further quires and single leaves added to the first part, which contains mainly popular and traditional Welsh and English tunes together with a few hymn-tunes, and is dated 1827 in the hand of Mair Richards, Darowen (on front cover). The second part, containing mainly popular and traditional tunes, together with a few hymns in Welsh, may have been first compiled by Thomas Davies, shoemaker, Esgaironen Fach, Llanarth, Cardiganshire, 1847-1857 (notes on covers and ff. 2, 20 verso), who added a list of customer accounts on ff. 16 verso-18.

A tune book, 1810s-1820s, containing psalm-tunes, anthems and hymn-tunes attributed to various Welsh composers including John Williams, Dolgellau (passim), David Harries, Carno (passim), Hugh Jones, Maesglasau (passim) and others, probably compiled by Thomas Richards (?the younger; his calligraphic signature, 1817, inside front cover). Some items are in the hand of his brother, Lewis Richards (1799-1860) and many annotations in that of his sister, Mair Richards, Darowen. Accompanying words, where present, are in Welsh.

A miscellaneous collection of hymn-tunes, anthems and a few traditional and popular tunes from Wales and elsewhere, perhaps compiled in the mid-nineteenth century and comprising various quires, bifolia and single sheets in a number of hands of the first half of the century, and bearing watermarks between 1817 (ff. 10, 24) and 1845 (f. 93). It includes works attributed to John Williams (f. 13), David Harries, Carno (ff. 14-16, 25 recto-verso, 28 verso-30, 55 verso-8, 62-6 verso) and David Richards ('Dewi Silin') (ff. 17-19 verso, inverted text). Accompanying words, where present, are mainly in Welsh. Also included are memoranda and verse in Welsh (ff. 26 verso-8) and a few annotations by Mair Richards, Darowen (f. 16a).

Also included are an englyn attributed to M[air] R[ichards], but signed below in red by David Richards ('Dewi Silin'; 1783-1826), who may have been the first owner (part one, f. 1).

A small volume entitled 'Cell-gasgl Sion Lleyn, 1805', containing 'englynion' (chiefly epitaphs), stanzas in free metre including hymn stanzas, and one or two longer poems (e.g. 'Awdl ar Dosturi 1809' and 'Pillion i Dwm or Nant herwydd ei Lyfr, sef Ban y Byd - Creglais o Groglofft &c, 1809, Ebrill 27') by and in the autograph of John Roberts ('Sion Lleyn'). Other poets represented are Griffth Williams('Guttun Peris'), W. Elias and O[wen] Griffith. There is also a list of unfamiliar Welsh words ('Geiriau Cymraeg dieithrol yn amlwg'), with the following note: 'Hyn a gymerwyd o gasgliadau Thos Prys Esqur, Plas Iolun, a D. Ddu a S. Lleyn'. On p. 58 is the note 'Mai 11. 1812 Priodais' [see Cwrtmawr MS 510, p. 106].

A volume entitled 'Telyn y Cyssegr. 1851', being a collection of hymns and religious poems, including translations, by D. Silvan Evans. Many of the compositions were published in D. Silvan Evans: Telyn Dyfi (Aberystwyth, 1898).
