Henry Ball and Jane Gould's marriage papers

The marriage settlement of Henry Ball, a captain in the Royal Navy, and Jane Gould, spinster, one of the daughters of Sir Charles Gould of Ealing, Middlesex, 5 Sept. 1782, Henry Ball's declaration of his wife's irreproachable demeanor, 22 March 1783, and their deed of separation, 11 April 1783.

Marriage settlements

The file comprises three marriage settlements where members of the Morgan and Gould families are among the trustees: (i) the pre-nuptial settlement of William Gee of the parish of St Marylebone, Middlesex, esq., and Anne Paston Gould of Brandon Hill in the parish of Briston St Augustine, Somerset, spinster, 1792. Her uncle, Sir Charles Gould of the Horse Guards, Westminster, and Robert Burrow of Harborough Castle, Surrey, esq., are the trustees; (ii) the pre-nuptial settlement of Edward Rice of All Souls College in the university of Oxford, one of the younger children of George Rice by Cecil Rice his wife, afterwards Baroness Dynevor, both dec., and Charlotte Lascelles of Portman Square, Middlesex, spinster, one of the daughters and legatees of Francis Lascelles of Ealing, Middlesex, esq., dec., late a general of his majesty's forces, 1802. Sir Charles Morgan of Grafton Street, Middlesex, Rowley Lascelles of Adbury, Berkshire, esq., one of Charlotte's brothers, and Magens Dorrien Magens of Cavendish Square, Middlesex, esq., are the trustees; (iii) the pre-nuptial settlement of Robert Jenner of Wenvoe Castle, esq., eldest son of Robert Jenners of Doctors Commons, London, esq., and Frances Lascelles of Edward Street, Middlesex, spinster, another of the daughters and legatees of the said Francis Lascelles, dec. Robert Jenner the elder, Charles Morgan of Ruperra and the said Rowley Lascelles are the trustees.
