Forty three notebooks, 1873-1915, the majority of which are numbered and labelled with a list of contents, recording inscribed stones examined by John Rhŷs mostly in Wales, the Isle of Man, Scotland, and Ireland. They contain descriptions of his journeys, of stones and inscriptions, folklore and other related notes. Also included are unbound diaries of 'ogham hunts', 1883-1899.

Papers relating to performance work created by Clifford McLucas and with which he was involved, including papers relating to the creation and planning of various performance projects, the collaborative work undertaken by Clifford McLucas with the NVA and the conferences at which Clifford McLucas gave performed lectures; together with items relating to the work of Brith Gof.

The file includes an itinerary on a loose sheet, two small notebooks containing a natural history diary of the visit, 1969, lists of Scottish plants and birds, deleted notes on Wales and wildlife, a letter, 1969, addressed to Cecil [Lambourne], regarding the best sites in Scotland for wild plants and birds, and other correspondence, 1975, about a friend's birdwatching holiday, and management plans for six Scottish national nature reserves.
