Rug legal papers

Legal papers of the Salesbury family of Rug, deriving from a dispute between Elizabeth Salesbury and Margaret Salesbury, and Roger Salesbury, concerning the payment of portions due to the plaintiffs under the trusts of the will of their father, Owen Salesbury, 1698-1715, and the case of Roger Salesbury about a deed executed at Ruthin, 1713, which may be indirectly related.

Corwen deeds and documents

Title deeds of houses and lands belonging to the Rug estate in the townships of Bonwm and Rhagad, and the parish of Corwen, 1529-1717. Boundary clauses consistently refer to the river Llechog and the house of John ap David ap John. The properties include Ty y Monwm, Y Penty Mawr, Y Ty Wen, Yr Ardd Newydd, Erw Dole Woogan, Erw'r Llechwedd, etc., most of which were purchased by Eubule Thelwall of Nantclwyd, Denbighshire, between 1659 and 1684. Other recurring names include John Thomas ap Robert [ap Rees ap Thomas], John Lloyd of Rhagad, John Mathew, Mathew Lewis, Owen ap John ap Howell and John ap Edward ap David ap Ieuan

Breconshire title deeds

Title deeds of the Breconshire estate belonging to the Lewes (Lewis) family of Borden, Hurst and Aberrnantbychan, and later to the Pryses of Gogerddan, 1488-1774. The estate included the manor of Trewallter and Priors Court in Llan-gors, and other properties in the parishes of Brecon, Llanfihangel Nant Bran, Llanfihangel Tal-y-llyn, Llangasty Tal-y-llyn, Llywel and Merthyr Cynog. In addition to Lewes, other prominent family names are Games, Watkins and Vaughan

Deeds of the Probyn family

Deeds relating to lands in south Wales belonging to members of the Probyn family of Newland, Gloucestershire, including Sir Edmund Probyn, his nephew John Hopkins, son of his sister Sarah, who was E.P.’s heir and took the name Probyn after his uncle’s death, and Edward Probyn the younger, 1719-1785.
