The group consists of H. Clarence Whaite's financial papers, 1860-1912, including statements of rents, rent books, personal account books, bank account pass books, estimates, bills and receipts, etc.

Manchester Academy of Fine Arts

The group comprises papers, 1866-1912, relating to the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts (MAFA), established in 1859, of which Whaite was elected president in 1892. The papers include agendas for monthly and annual meetings, letters, accounts statements, press cuttings and miscellaneous papers, including rules and regulations of the Academy, and invitation cards to various exhibitions held by the Society.
