Papers, [?1965]-[?2004], relating to books and articles by Kyffin Williams, among them his autobiographical works Across the Straits and A wider sky. They mostly comprise manuscript drafts, typescript copies, proofs, agreements, related notes, and reviews.

Letters, 1939-2006, mostly addressed to Kyffin Williams which relate to professional and personal matters. Correspondents include fellow artists, representatives from galleries and institutions, and admirers of his work. A number of letters refer to exhibitions and the publication of books by, or relating to, Kyffin Williams. Letters and cards, 1923-2003, from Kyffin Williams, mainly to members of his family, are included at the end of the sequence. Some items also contain notes and ink sketches by him.

Pocket diaries, unless otherwise noted, 1939-2006 (with gaps), belonging to Kyffin Williams. They comprise brief, often occasional, entries recording visits; meetings with individuals, groups, and galleries; notes regarding exhibitions; and domestic and personal matters. Several diaries also contain reminders of engagements and appointments for the previous and following years. In addition, they include various notes, mostly relating to art, some of which appear to have been composed in preparation for talks by Kyffin Williams; together with poems, limericks, sketches and doodles by him.

Personal b&w photographs taken by JKW on various trips abroad, mainly to Europe. Most are of Paris.

Manuscripts and typescript copies, including drafts and preparatory notes, [1954x2000], of talks and addresses by Kyffin Williams. Most are undated and untitled, and mainly discuss themes relating to art including his own work and experiences as an artist. Some scripts could possibly be drafts of articles. Included is a typescript copy of his address delivered at the Annual General Meeting of the North Wales Association for the Arts, 1972; and drafts of the lecture, ['A Painter in Gwynedd'], given to the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion, 5 May 1988, and published in the Society's Transactions, 1988. Notes on Vincent van Gogh are partially written on the reverse of a script of an interview between John Ormond, Kyffin Williams and Jack Jones. A limerick and biro sketch are included on the back of a Terston notepad amongst the miscellaneous preparatory notes.

Two collections of photographs of Welsh views divided as to format. Llyfr ffoto 4685 contains mainly black and white photos with some more recent colour prints. Llyfr ffoto 4686 contains 35mm slides. The overwhelming majority of photographs are of views in Anglesey and Snowdonia.
