These photographs relating to the family and career of Gwyn Thomas were found on cataloguers desk in a brown envelope marked "photographs" without any explanation following a period of absence. However photograph 0200500920/1 is marked in ink "M Parnell D778 Mark required print X" suggesting that these are from the same source as photographs bearing accession no. 0199900613.

Full-length portrait of a middle-aged man with a harp standing in front of the doorway to a stone built house. He is wearing a medal on his chest, possibly signifying a win at a local eisteddfod. This could possibly be Tom Lloyd the harpist (1848-1917) aka 'Telynor Ceiriog.'

In the foreground are two large marquees whilst the ceremony is taking place in the distance under a banner that reads "Success to the Tanat Valley Light Railway." Note that JPJ004 is a similar view of the same event. The Montgomery County Times and Shropshire and Mid-Wales Advertiser dated 16th September 1899 gives an account of the proceedings.

General view of the village of Llangedwyn. Additional information on the original enclosure indicates that this was used to produce 500 brown collotype postcards published by Lloyd, Llanrhaiadr. Mr Lloyd was the owner of the premises prior to Mr John Peris Jones.
