O. M. Edwards,

Most of the letters, 1892-1916, are devoted to the writer's researches, writings and editing of Wales, Y Llenor, Heddyw and Cymru for which he solicits contributions from the pen of J. H. Davies. Several letters refer to the death of Thomas Edward Ellis in April 1899, the preparation of his biography and the erection of a memorial statue at Bala. Others relate to J. H. Davies's application for the position of Registrar of the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, and some to Edwards's duties as Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales.

Manuscripts from the library of Sir Owen Morgan Edwards (1858-1920), mostly belonging to the nineteenth century, and consisting of original copy of published material in the form of essays, short stories, original and translated poetry, collections of proverbs, etc.; also included in the collection are account books, sermons, diary entries, miscellaneous papers on various literary topics, and autograph letters of well-known Welsh figures.

The fonds comprises letters from Edwards to various members of his family, 1882-1920, together with letters to him from his wife, son, daughter and other members of the family and early family papers, 1804-1943; letters from friends, leading figures in Welsh public life and academic associates, 1880-1920; diaries and notebooks, 1875-1920; papers deriving from his work as a publisher and editor, 1890-1920, and as Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales, 1907-1920. There are also some papers relating to the proposed biography of Edwards, and a collection of printed material accumulated by him.
