An interleaved copy of Edward Welchman, XXXIX Articuli Ecclesiae Anglicanae, textibus sacrae scripturae ... confirmati ..., editio quinta (Oxonii : e Theatro Sheldoniano, 1730). On the blank leaves are written Biblical passages referred to in the margins of the printed work. Loose inside is an abstract [by J. A. Bradney, according to a note in pencil by T. I. Ellis] of the will of John Edwards of Tredonyke, Monmouthshire, clerk, proved 8 January 1657/8 (P.C.C. Wotton 42).

Two volumes containing over one hundred and sixty holograph letters and postcards and fragments of letters from B[enjamin] Williams ('Gwynionydd') to D. Silvan Evans ('Hirlas'). The letters are addressed from a variety of places, such as Rhydlewis, Llanfihangel ar Arth, Llangeitho, Llangan, Trefilan, Cenarth, Newcastle Emlyn, Cwmdwr, Abergwennol, Llandovery, Llanddeusant, Penboyr, Pontlottyn and Llanover. The inclusive period of the letters is 1860-91 but the majority are dated within the years 1882-8. The main subjects of discussion are family bereavements and other news, South Cardiganshire pedigrees and biographies, the etymology of place and dialect names, institutions within the Established Church generally of interest to the writer, and day-to-day events and conditions of life and employment at Plas Llanofer. In addition there are copious references to other matters, such as the election of H[enry] Richard ('y dihyryn') for Merthyr [Tudful]; the recipient's edition of Llyfryddiaeth y Cymry; the writer's visits to North Pembrokeshire and South Cardiganshire parishes to examine registers; a proposed second edition of the writer's Enwogion Ceredigion; the writer's activities with the Archaeological Association; the writer's visits to Bronwydd, to St Davids, etc.; the discovery by the writer of an ogham stone at Llandygwydd; news of the family of David Owen ('Brutus'); a new lease of the writer's home at Wenallt, [in Troedyraur]; the library of D. A volume containing mounted cuttings of a paper by John Davies on 'Monmouthshire Worthies', read before the Newport Cymmrodorion Society. Inset are a few extracts from Trevecca letters, 1729-1744, and transcripts in the hand of J. A. Bradney of some of the Gunter papers described in NLW MS 11420E. The volume was originally (1902) used as a mathematics exericse book.

A volume of pedigrees of Monmouthshire and Herefordshire and some other families transcribed, with an index of places, in 1904 by John Hobson Matthews ('Mab Cernyw'), Monmouth, from 'Llyfr Baglan'. The original volume was compiled during the years 1600-1607; it was to be edited in full by Joseph Alfred Bradney under the title of Llyfr Baglan or the Book of Baglan (London, 1910).

A scrapbook of material relating to William Thomas ('Islwyn'), including press cuttings, etc., in connection with negotiations for the purchase and restoration of his birthplace at Tŷ'r Agent, Ynys-ddu, 1925-1926, and press cuttings, correspondence (addressed to A. W. Games, Cwmfelin-fach), printed matter, photographs, labels attached to relics and personalia, and a balance sheet, in connection with centenary celebration meetings held in 1932 at Cwmfelin-fach and Ynys-ddu.
