The greater part of the volume was written in the early eighteenth century. Among slightly later hands at the end of the volume is that of William Jones of Orsedd Las. At the end of the volume is a letter from a Welsh emigrant, written from Delaware, 21 September, 1828.

A composite manuscript lettered 'BARDDONIAETH &c.' on the spine. The volume, which contains 'englynion', 'carolau' and pedigrees, is written for the most part (ff. 1-52 verso and 75 verso-101 verso) by Wiliam Dafydd Llywelyn of Llangynidr (c. 1520-1606) (cf. NLW MS 15542B). Another hand is responsible for ff. 53- 75, but Wiliam Dafydd Llywelyn appears to have annotated this middle section. Folio 6 verso carries an eighteenth century list of payments, and folio 7 verso is blank. The contents are: ff. 1-2 verso, part of the story of 'Trystan ac Esyllt' (cf. The contents of pp. 289-342 and 347-82 consist almost entirely of transcripts of Welsh strict-metre poems in the form of 'cywyddau' and 'englynion'. Many of these bear one of the various bardic names adopted by Edward Williams at various times ('Iorwerth Morganwg', 'Iorwerth Gwilym neu brydydd bychan Morganwg', 'Iolo Morganwg') and all may possibly be his compositions.

A manuscript containing, in excellent script by William Owen-Pughe, the works of Aneirin and Taliesin, etc. At the beginning of the volume are sketches of human faces, followed by notes on 'Gafis' and 'Deffrobani' and on the Irish alphabet, and a title page headed 'o Gasgliad Huw Morus, Tuddyn Tudur, 1796' (pp. i-2). The text also includes introductions to Aneirin and Taliesin (pp. 7, 63).
There is no evidence that this manuscript was used for the Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales.
