The fonds consists of three groups of papers of the Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales (CPRW), formerly the Council for the Preservation of Rural Wales, and the Council for the Protection of Rural Wales, the first dated 1928-1961, deposited in 1966, the second (papers of the Caernarfonshire branch) dated 1976-1986, deposited in 1986, both of which had been described in a separate, earlier schedule. Both the 1966 group (Records and Classified files), and the third group (starting with General meeting minutes), deposited in 2002, are described here below. The 2002 deposit comprises General Meeting minutes, 1935-1971, Executive Committee minutes, 1935-1989, Finance and General Purposes Committee minutes, 1973-1989, Meetings of Trustees minutes, 1979-1989, and a committee attendance book, 1973-1989.

One hundred and twenty-four autograph letters, 1959-1974, from painter-poet David ('Dafydd') Jones, all addressed to Valerie ('Elri') Wynne-Williams (née Price), with the exception of two to her husband Michael ('Mihangel') (ff. 54, 112-113) and one to them both (ff. 55-56), discussing a variety of topics including his, and her, health and living conditions, his work, his friends, the Welsh language and Welsh history and politics. These are all stray letters and have no common theme. They include a few references to political developments and events. Some give family news.

The file comprises early letters during her schooldays at St Paul's Girls' School and her years as an undergraduate at Somerville College, Oxford. A few relate to the affairs of the Oxford Women's Student Association. Some are written by relatives. Later letters concern her early career, particularly her journalistic work and applications for posts. Many of the correspondents refer to Eirene Jones's candidature for Flintshire in the general election of 1945 and her subsequent election campaigns in Flintshire East. There is much general political correspondence, some concerning constituency matters. Many of the letters refer to her wide-ranging public and committee work and numerous societies.
