The file comprises the commissions of Godfrey Charles Morgan to be a JP in Monmouthshire, 1855, Arthur John Morgan to be deputy lieutenant of Breconshire, 1876, of Frederic Courtenay Morgan to the honourary rank of colonel of the 1st Monmouthshire volunteer rifle corps, 1881, of Godfrey Charles, baron Tredegar, to the honourary rank of colonel of the Royal Monmouthshire Engineer Militia, 1895, a covering letter from the Monmouthshire Territorial Force that accompanied their flag, presented to Viscount Tredegar, 1911, Baron Tredegar's commission as temporary lieutenant (RNR) in command of the hospital yacht 'Liberty' attached to 'HMS Columbine', Aug. 1914, and as temporary commander (RNVR) at HMS Victory, Dec. 1914, and as temporary commander (RNVR) of 'HMS President', May 1916, and his transfer to the retired list, 1926. -- A testimonial from the teaching staff and pupils of the Cardiff Intermediate School for Girls, signed by the staff and the heads of forms on behalf of the girls, and presented to Lord Tredegar, on the occasion of entering on the completed buildings, [post 1895], the appointment of Lord Tredegar as a life member of the court of the university of Wales, 1901, and a description of the casket presented to Viscount Tredegar with the honourary freedon of the city of Cardiff, 1909.
