Copy of the Will (will dated Dec. 29 1704) of Arthur Jones of Fountain Hall, Carmarthen, esq. Testator bequeathes as follows:. I bequeath my real estate in the parishes of Monington and Llantoor, co. Pemb., to Charles Prichard the younger, late of Brecon, now of London, surgeon, and Richard Howell of Carmarthen, gent., in trust for the following uses - to my sister, Mary Evans of Cardigan, £80 p. a.; to my niece, Jane, daughter of Mary Evans, £5 p. a. on her mother's death; remainder to the use of my niece, Mary Jones of Cardigan, spinster, and, on her death, to my nephew, Arthur Jones of Cardigan, esq. I bequeath my real estate in the parish of Kenarth to the said trustees to the uses: to my sister, Mary Evans, £10.10.0 p. a.; to Elizabeth, widow of Richard James, late of Rhydgaled, co. Pemb., £10.10.0 p. a.; to Anne, widow to John Davies of Lampeter pont Stephan, co. Card., £5.5.0 p. a.; remainder to the uses of my wife, Elizabeth Jones, for 10 years, then to the uses of Arthur Jones, my nephew, for life, and then to the uses of Arthur Jones, son of my nephew, James Jones, late of Butchery Row, London, cheese monger. I bequeath Gellywen in the parish of St Peter's, Carmarthen, purchased from David Parry, esq., and the tithes issuing out of Fountain Hall fields to my wife, Elizabeth, and, on her death, to Arthur Jones, son of my nephew, James Jones. I give all my real estate in the parish of St Peter's, Carmarthen, subject to the estate for life of my wife, to Arthur Jones, son of my nephew, James Jones. I give all my real estate in the parish of Llangunnor, subject to the estate for life of my wife, to my nephew, Griffith Jones, brother of James Jones, for life, on condition his family come to live at Myrtle Hill within 2 years of my wife's death; on his death, or if condition refused, the estate to go to Arthur, son of my nephew, James Jones. I bequeath my real estate in the parishes of Llanwinio and Treleacharbettws, subject to the estate for life of my wife, to Richard Howell on trust to the use of my niece, Catherine, wife of Charles Prichard, and her heirs. I give £10 to my friends, Richard Howell and Charles Prichard. I give £10 each for mourning to my brothers in law, John Lloyd of Kilgadan, esq., and Herbert Lloyd of Carmarthen, esq., to my niece, Mary Jones, and to Margaret, wife of David Williams of Henllis, esq. I give my lawbooks to my nephew, Arthur Jones, and my physical books to Charles Prichard. I bequeath to my wife, Elizabeth, all my mortgages and mortgaged lands and all my leases and leasehold lands and I appoint her my sole executrix and residuary legatee.
