A volume, 1790-1800, containing miscellaneous papers of Edward Jones (Bardd y Brenin) (1752-1824), including correspondence, notes and extracts. Inserted in the volume is a foolscap book, 8 pp., containing a translation of the chronological table in the Red Book of Hergest.

The first of two volumes, containing a 19th century copy of an early 18th century manuscript by Edward Lloyd of Newtown, near Oswestry, barrister-at-law, and William Mytton of Halston, relating to the antiquities of Shropshire. Indexes to the places referred to and a list of the hundreds of Shropshire precede the text of the volume.

A volume containing a collection, c. 1831, in the hand of Thomas Thomas of Troedyrhiw, Myddfai, of topical and other songs, in English and Welsh, mostly by John Thomas (Hoilienydd), which include a few examples of Penillion Pendrws (pp. 77-82).

John Davies: Bywyd Mohammed, llyfryn hanesion, a barddoniaeth

A volume, 1751, mostly in the hand of John Davies, Pentrefoelas (1675-1769), containing an account of the life of the prophet Mohammed (pp. 1-10), an account told by 'Mr Harbert Griffydd o Gaer yn Arfon' (pp. 11-21), and miscellaneous poetry (pp. 22-78 passim). The tale noted in pp. 11-21 was published as a chap-book at Trefriw, c. 1780, with the title Adroddiad Nodedig o'r Byd Anweledig, &c. and was probably copied into this manuscript from an earlier edition of the chap-book.

David Jones: Caneuon

A chap-book, entitled Drych y Merched neu Fuchedd Araith am Wragedd yn Ddwy Rann, y Gyntaf yn cynnwys Dull y rhai Ffol, Yr Ail yn cynnwys Cynneddfau y rhai Doeth, containing two songs, in Welsh, written, 1754, by David Jones of Trefriw (1708?-1785) and arranged for printing. The margins of the volume are covered with references to books and manuscripts, in both Welsh and English.

John Thomson: Letter from St Petersburg

A letter from John Thomson of St Petersburg, dated 30 August 1770, apparently written to a friend in Scotland who had at one time resided in Russia. The letter gives an account of various Scottish and English people residing in Russia at the time and also of the financial and political conditions of the country.
