  1. William Lewes from Lhwyndherw. 2. Mr John Lewes at Carmarthen. Letter in which the writer states that he had been at Gwern vachwy [sic] and sets out the information he had obtained concerning Lhanlleir. The estate had been owned by Richard, Earl of Carbery, through his wife, Briget. He had conveyed it to David Parry of Noyadh in return for lands in Lhangeler and Penboir and a considerable sum of money. Parry, in turn, sold Lhanlleir to Thomas Lloyd, who, by his will, had bequeathed legacies to his three daughters and heirs and had left the estate to his brother, William. William had mortgaged the estate to the Sumners, who had paid the legacies. The writer also notes that the said Thomas Lloyd, subsequent to making his will, had purchased the fairs of Talysarne and that the equity of redemption of William Lloyd's lands was lodged in Thomas Johnes, grandson of the said William, and son of Cornelia, his daughter.
