A manuscript in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing a copy of Nennius's 'Eulogium Britanniæ' (ff. 1-57); notes relating to Nennius copied from a manuscript in the hand of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt (ff. 67-88); triads copied from a manuscript in the hand of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, by Lewis Morris in 1738, with marginal and intertextual notes (ff. 89-112), and from the Red Book of Hergest (ff. 137-152); 'Araith Iolo Goch' (ff. 114-116); poetry, the poets cited including Aneirin, Iolo Goch and Mabclaf ap Llywarch (ff. 119-157b); etc. On f. 189 is a table of contents in a later hand. On f. iv the title page reads 'Y Cynfeirdd Cymreig, Vol. II'.
This manuscript is the source of the text of Series I of the Triads in the Myvyrian Archaiology Vol. ii, pp. 1-22. The englynion at ff. 119-122b are practically the same as those in Myvyrian Archaiology, pp. 543-547, col. i, but that the arrangement is different. The text at f. 132 was copied in September 1758 from an autograph manuscript of Edward Lhuyd. The text at f. 154 verso was transcribed from Llyfr Coch Nannau (see Mostyn MS 144) 'and collated it with my brother Lewis Morris MSS'.

A manuscript index to J. H. Davies (ed.), The Letters of Lewis, Richard, William and John Morris of Anglesey (Morrisiaid Môn) (Aberystwyth, 1907-9) compiled for J. H. Davies by T. Vaughan Roberts, London and completed in 1911. The general index (420 pp.) is followed by lists of 'Words and phrases characteristic of the Morrises or illustrating forms commonly used by them' and 'Books, Pamphlets, Manuscripts & Poems referred to', references to 'Trades & Professions', and a number of corrections. Other items ('Removed from the manuscript before it was sent to Mr Jenkin James, January 7, 1931') consist of a letter, 1911, from the compiler, T. Vaughan Roberts to J. H. Davies, and a letter, 1902, from John Ballinger, Cardiff to J. H. Davies enclosing notes and items of verse (mainly by Lewis Morris) copied by J. Ifano Jones from 'an imperfect copy of Dr John Davies's Dictionary, 1632, once the property of Lewis Morris' and from copies of [Huw Jones], Diddanwch Teuluaidd (Llundain, 1763) which belonged to John William Prichard, Plas-y-brain and Nicholas Bennett respectively.

A folder containing eight files of original letters and copies of letters and poetry from the eighteenth to the twentieth century. Files 1-3: Transcripts of letters by Lewis and Richard Morris, mainly to Evan Evans ('Ieuan Fardd') and Dafydd Jones of Trefriw, almost all published in Hugh Owen (ed.), Additional Letters of the Morrises of Anglesey (1735-1786), Y Cymmrodor, Vol. XLIX, 1947-9, the remainder published in G. J. Williams (gol.) Llythyrau at Ddafydd Jones o Drefriw. Cylchgrawn Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru. Atodiad. Cyfres III, Rhif 2 (1942), and J. H. Davies (ed.), The Letters of Lewis, Richard, William and John Morris of Anglesey (Morrisiaid Mon) (Aberystwyth, 1907-9). The original letters or copies from which these copies were transcribed are in the British Museum (Add MSS 14929, 15021, 15024, 15029) and the National Library of Wales (mainly Panton 74 and NLW MS 476). There is also a transcript of a letter from the Reverend Thomas Ellis, Holyhead to the Reverend Humphrey Owen and the Reverend J. Hoare, 1742 (the original letter is preserved in NLW MS 478), and a copy of Evan Evans's elegy to Lewis Morris, with notes on the text. A transcript of a letter from Edward Richard, 1766, to Richard Morris (from BM Add MS 15025), and extracts from letters from Edward Richard to Lewis Morris, 1759 and undated (from BM Add MS 15029). A holograph letter from Edward Richard, Ystradmeuryg, 1762, to Lewis Morris, Penbryn (published in Hugh Owen, op. cit. Part II, pp. 562-3). File 5: A holograph letter from [the Reverend] W[illiam] Davies, Llanwryn [Montgomeryshire], 1710, to Henry Newman at the Reverend Mr Shute's in Bartlet's Buildings, London (receipt of letter and a packet from the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, subscriptions from other parishes, has partly prevailed with a certain minister to become a corresponding member). The letter bears the number 2381 (see Mary Clement (ed.), Correspondence and minutes of the S.P.C.K. relating to Wales 1699-1740 (Cardiff, 1952), p. 35. Abstract No. 2381). The letters are addressed to John Roberts ('Sion Lleyn'), Pwllheli (4), 1791-1806 (corrections to addressee's poetry, tributes to writer's brother, Humphrey, after his death, some short poetical compositions by the writer), to Griffith Williams ('Gutyn Peris'), Llandygai (8), 1799-1819, (poetry, subjects upon which writer desired addressee to compose hymns, meetings of bards and eisteddfodau, comments and news of contemporary poets, writer's health and work), and one letter, addressee not named, 1804, (addressee's poetry which writer had received, desires addressee to render 2 Samuel XXII in strict metres and to ask other poets to do the same). The poetry includes verses entitled 'Y Cynauaf mawr diweddaf' subscribed 'D. T. a'i cant allan o'r Saesneg ar ddymuniad John Jones Llandwrog Medi 10d 1804 (cf. A volume in the hand of D. Silvan Evans described on the title-page as 'Lewis Morris's Additions to Dr Davies's Welsh-Latin Dictionary (from autographs) 1879. (The original Copy, once belonging to Lewis Morris, and annotated on by him, is now (1879) in the possession of the Rev. Thomas James, LLD, ['Llallawg'], Vicar of Netherthong, near Huddersfield)'. The scribe has added the following observations: 'The additions, it will be seen, are few, and very unimportant ..', and at the end has recorded the following entry: 'Returned the Copy of Dr Davies's Dictionary lent me by Llallawg, for transcribing the preceding notes, July 30, 1879'.

The volume appears originally to have been used as an account book of receipts and disbursements in respect of the farms of Llwyn, Cafnmaelen and Byrthlwydd [parish of Dolgellau, Merioneth], 1799-1802, and also to record biographies of [James Crichton, 'The Admirable'], Sir Francis Walsingham, Sir Francis Drake and William Cecil, Lord Burghley.
