The letters, some of which include fair copies of published poems, are chiefly concerned with contemporary writing in Wales in both English and Welsh and with the recipient's work as editor of a number of volumes in this field. The opera was commissioned by the Welsh National Opera Company and published by the Oxford University Press (London, 1974). The file contains manuscript and typescript drafts of the libretto, with synopses of the work, and a copy of the manuscript vocal score (possibly in the hand of Alun Hoddinott). Also included are manuscript and typescript drafts of lyrics for songs, [c. 1973], together with other related papers. The file mainly consists of correspondence between Don Dale-Jones and Glyn Jones, 1987-1989, mostly regarding the anthology; with a typescript draft of the foreword, 1980; and typescript copies of the contents and introduction to the work, entitled 'Selected poems', by Don Dale-Jones, 1985 and 1987.
