A composite volume of collections of Welsh poetry and prose made about 1635. The title is derived from the third section which contains a number of poems to members of the Wynn family of Moelyrch in Llansilin. Amongst the poets represented are Hywel Cilan, Tudur Aled, Rhys Cain, Gruffudd Hiraethog, Sion Cain, Guto'r Glyn, Edmwnd Prys, Lewis Glyn Cothi, Iolo Goch, Cynddelw Brydydd Mawr, Iorwerth Fynglwyd, Taliesin, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Dafydd Nanmor and Wiliam Cynwal. Miscellaneous material in the volume includes a copy of an award relating to Moelyrch, 1540; a fragment of a letter by Charles I; the pedigrees of Oliver Cromwell, Holland and Morris, and Kyffin of Bodfach; a roll of the Caerwys Eisteddfod, 1567; an extract from 'Breuddwyd Rhonabwy'; a list of the sheriffs of Denbighshire from 1541 to 1635, with additions to 1658; a copy of documents relating to the treaty of alliance concluded between Charles VI of France and Owain Glyndŵr; extracts from the epigrams of John Owen; and extracts from scripture.

A composite manuscript lettered 'BARDDONIAETH &c.' on the spine. The volume, which contains 'englynion', 'carolau' and pedigrees, is written for the most part (ff. 1-52 verso and 75 verso-101 verso) by Wiliam Dafydd Llywelyn of Llangynidr (c. 1520-1606) (cf. NLW MS 15542B). Another hand is responsible for ff. 53- 75, but Wiliam Dafydd Llywelyn appears to have annotated this middle section. Folio 6 verso carries an eighteenth century list of payments, and folio 7 verso is blank. The contents are: ff. 1-2 verso, part of the story of 'Trystan ac Esyllt' (cf. A manuscript volume with the title 'AMRYW' in gold lettering on the spine. Written throughout by William Owen [-Pughe], the manuscript contains transcripts of parts of two older manuscripts, the one in the hand of Lewis Morris [B.M. Add. MS 14908, ff. 36-58], and the other in the hand of Owen Jones, 'Owain Myfyr' [B.M. Add. MS 15020, pp. 1-5, 7-12, 27-8, 33- 5, 44-5, 52-8, 67-70, 93-107, 109-15, 117-23]. The first item in the present manuscript, pp. 1-39, is a transcript of the Statute of Rhuddlan, 'Ystatus Rhuddlan yw hon. A.D. 1283', copied from Lewis Morris's manuscript, which is in turn a copy of a vellum manuscript in the Hengwrt library, which he transcribed in 1738 [i.e. Peniarth MS 41]. The remainder of the present manuscript is copied from B.M. Add. A manuscript volume bearing the words 'MABINOGI PWYLL' in gold lettering on the spine. The volume, which is written throughout by William Owen [-Pughe], contains transcripts, probably from 'Llyfr Coch Hergest', and English translations of 'Pwyll Pendefig Dyfed' (pp. 11-79), 'Branwen ferch Llyr'(pp. 80-1153), and 'Manawydan fab Llyr' (pp. 154-217), with the beginning only of 'Math fab Mathonwy' (pp. 218-23). Also included are poems by Edward Richard, Ystrad Meurig, William Moses ('neu Gwilim Tew, o Glyn Tâf'), Howel Prichard, Edward Evans, Ton Coch, Lewis Hopkin, William Harr[i], Llwyn-onn, William Davies (alias 'Wm. A manuscript in the hand of Moses Williams containing 'Kelvyddyd kerdd Davod' (ff. 1-5a), being a copy of pp. 10-16 of Llanstephan MS 28, with a note stating that 'This imperfect Tract I transcribed out of a MS. writ by Guttyn Owain A.D. 1455 & communicated to me by D Foulkes of Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd.'; and an extract 'Out of Huw Machno's Book' (ff. 5b-12b) outlining the fifteen faults which may be committed when writing Welsh verse, with examples. The text cites a line from Wiliam Cynwal.

A manuscript containing poetry of Bedo Brwynllys, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Guto'r Glyn, Huw Cae Llwyd and others (pp. 1-136, 149-159); a vocabulary (pp. 137-149); Dafydd Ddu [Hiraddug]'s Grammar (pp. 161-198); the statutes of Gruffydd ap Cynan (pp. 199-206 (at the end of this extract is the note 'Dyma y maint a gebhais o'r Statut yn lhybhyr Meistr Sion ap Edward gam o drebh newydd, o blwybh Dewi yn Sir bhracheiniog . 1579 .'); a translation into Welsh of Genesis I (pp. 230-245); Biblical extracts and history (pp. 246-264) (a note on p. 252 records that the Biblical extracts were taken 'o lybhyr Mr Edmond Morgan o Bhedwelhty'); &c. All but pp. 256-259, 265-268 and part of p. 198 are in the autograph of the grammarian Dr John David Rhys (1534-1609); his peculiar orthography begins on p. 13, l. 21. The poetical extracts vary in length from three to fifty lines. The lines selected are not always consecutive; they are even occasionally fragmentary, and many words are explained or glossed. The awdl on p. 256 is in a different but contemporary hand from that of Dr John David Rhys. For p. 265, cf. the text on pp. 22-24, which agrees in part. For the dating of this manuscript see p. 207.

A manuscript containing poetry of Dafydd ap Gwilym, Rhys Fardd, Iolo Goch, Dafydd Llwyd ap Llewelyn ap Gruffudd (Dafydd Llwyd, Mathafarn) and others. Ff. 83-134 contain transcripts, mostly in a modernised orthography, of pp. 9-62, 70 (l. 13)-102 of the Black Book of Carmarthen. F. 134 has the following note: 'Tro oddiyma rhagot 17 o ddalennau ac yno y cei di ychwaneg wedi ei scrifennu allan or llyfr du : ac yn dechreu Marwnad Madawc mab Mredydd'; however, there is no trace left of the leaves containing the material to which reference is made. Ff. 237-267 verso are in the hand of William Maurice, as is the note on f. 137 - 'O Lyfr Phylib Wiliams or Dyffryn'. The poem at ff. 135-136 is attributed by the scribe to Dafydd ap Gwilym, yet on its reproduction at f. 137 it is attributed to Gruffudd Llwyd ap Dafydd ab Einion [Lygliw]); this work is attributed in most manuscripts to Dafydd ap Gwilym - wrongly, as most students of Dafydd ap Gwilym would say.
