The collection consists almost entirely of correspondence predominately relating to Ifor L. Evans detainment in Germany during the Great War (1914-1918); letters and postcards between Ifor, his parents (Mr W. J. Evans and Mrs M. Evans) and grandmother; letters between Ifor, friends and others; correspondence between Ifor's parents and a range of individuals, mostly with regard to Ifor's situation; a series of letters to Mrs M. Evans from Mary Harold of Brae-Maray, Maeduff. The only material which is not correspondence is a loose selection of newspaper cuttings containing articles on German prisoners of war, as well as a few odds and ends (see series ILE/5 Miscellaneous for more details).

The papers include minutes of the editorial group, biographical profiles of visual and applied artists, details of exhibitions held and images of their work.

Papers, 1976-2019, accumulated by Ena Niedergang whilst researching for her book Wales-China: 250 years of history published in 2015 and other papers not used for the book, including correspondence relating to missionaries and soldiers who served in China and the many connections between the two countries.
Additional papers relating to The Wales-China Friendship Society, including correspondence relating to branches of the society in Cardiff and Swansea and minutes of meetings, The China ’89 project, visitors to China and from China to Wales and exhibitions.

Papers created and compiled by Peter Reynolds in his work as a composer of musical works, a writer and critic, and his lecture notes. Musical compositions include full orchestral scores, parts works, arrangements, draft works and sketches. Research papers and notes covering musical compositions, composers and artists, accumulated during his research for the writing of programme notes and his copywriting. Some of these files contain historical items collected for reference. Subject files and a large collection of concert and event literature. Teaching notes for lectures at WCMD and his composers workshops.
Two boxes of audio material have been transferred to The National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales.

The scrapbooks contain press cuttings relating to a variety of subjects such as church, political and literary matters, together with obituaries, mainly of eminent church figures, and book reviews.

The fonds consists of administrative records and accounts, 1974-1998, of the Association of Visual Artists in Wales, formerly the Association of Artists and Designers in Wales, comprising material relating to both its national and regional activities.
