A manuscript containing poetry (pp. 5-18, 42-162), the poets cited including Iolo Goch, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Guto'r Glyn, Siôn Cent and Iorwerth Fynglwyd; apocryphal gospels (pp. 21-31); 'y Discibl ar Athro', which includes a brief summary of the Elucidarium (pp. 32-35); &c.
The manuscript is in several hands, with a few later additions to the text. Pp. 5-15 l. 6, 77-99 l. 9, 115-122, 131-136, 161-162 are in the same hand. The manuscript is sewn into a piece of old parchment dated 1647. Poetic marginalia occur at pp. 13, 77, 81, 82, 83, 85, 87, 93, 97, 103, 131, 146, 151. The work beginning at p. 108 is in the autograph of Rhys Cain or that of his son, Siôn Cain. The work beginning at p. 112 is apparently in the autograph of Siôn Clywedog (cf. an autograph englyn by Siôn Clywedog in the margin of p. 127). The work beginning at p. 144 appears to be in the autograph of Lewys Dwnn - cf. a note in the same hand relating to the work beginning at p. 139.

A manuscript containing poetry (pp. 3-10, 54-179, 181-362), the poets cited including Iolo Goch, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Tudur Aled, Guto'r Glyn and Siôn Phylip; medical recipes taken from the texts of Meddygon Myddfai (pp. 11-16); Disgrifiad Arfau ('a Jon Trevor ai troes or Lladin ar ffrangeck yn gymraeck - August 1 . 1632' (pp. 25-53); a copy of a document relating to the boundaries of Cyfeiliog (p. 180), which bears a note at the end: 'It doeth beare date 1204 Mr. Edw: Herbert of Mountgomery had thorriginall deed in keepinge; Mr. Jenkyn gwyn and Mr. Ifan llwyd ap dd: esqrs. did copy the same per me Wythen Jones.'
The text is written in several hands, the principal hand occurring at pp. 3-10, 55-222, ?267-350, c. 1636 (see p. 219). The text was copied from a manuscript belonging to Evan Bowen of Penyrallt, Llanidloes.

Welsh arms and pedigrees,

A manuscript containing a collection of Welsh arms and pedigrees compiled and abridged from the works of several authors during the years 1697-1698 by John Gruffydd of Cae Cyriog, Ruabon, here transcribed and rendered into English by William Jones of Llangadfan. P. ix contains 'A list of the Heralds and Genealogists from whom the author compiled the following Book and the dates of their MSS'; amongst the names mentioned are Gutun Owain, William Salesbury of Rhug, John Salisbury of Erbistock and Foulk Owen of Nantglyn. At the beginning of the volume are loose papers which include two letters in the autograph of Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain'), one of which is dated 3 June 1799 and relates to the Board of Agriculture. At the end of the volume (pp. 155-166) are copies of letters from Robert Vaughan concerning Gwaithfoed, Lord of Cardigan, with a reply from Mr Kynaston of Pant y Byrsley.

Catalogues of Welsh manuscripts,

A manuscript containing a copy of the 'Catalogue of Welsh MSS.' by Aneurin Owen and Angharad Llwyd. At the end of the manuscript is a note reading 'Mem: June 29th 1827. The original Catalogue of A. Owen and Angharad Llwyd were this day delivered to the Rev. W. J. Rees of Cascob' (signed) 'John Jenkins' ['Ifor Ceri'].
The text agrees with that printed in Transactions of the Cymmrodorion, 1828, etc.

The manuscript is written in three different hands: pp. 1-102 belong to the third quarter of the sixteenth century; pp. 103-130 to the fourth quarter of the sixteenth century; and pp. 131-146 are in the hand of Sir Thomas Wiliems in his earliest style, c. 1576.

A manuscript containing poetry by Dafydd Benwyn, Lewys Morganwg, Rhisiart ap Rhys and others (pp. 15-202, 207-210, 241-243); prophecies of Merlin and of St David (pp. 205-206); biblical history (pp. 211-240); &c. There is a table of contents on p. 204.
Pp. 15-107 are in the autograph of Dafydd Benwyn (see pp. 25, 78, 81); pp. 110-203 were written c. 1624 (see p. 110); and pp. 211-240 are in the same hand as that in Llanstephan MS 134. The remaining pages are in various hands: pp. 108-109 and four lines of p. 209 may be in the autograph of Siôn Mawddwy, and pp. 241-243 may be in that of Edward Dafydd. For other copies of the text at pp. 211-240 (which is defective) see Peniarth MSS 20 and 253, and British Museum MS Cleopatra B. v.

Translation of the psalms into Welsh

A transcript of 'Captain W. Middleton's translation of the Psalms into Welsh' copied by Samuel Williams from a transcript in the hand of 'W. Dafydd Lewelyn o blwyf Llangynydr Eglwys Yail o. c. 1606' (p. 312).
Samuel Williams found W. Dafydd Llewelyn's text 'more correct than the printed copy'. The manuscript bears Samuel Williams's inscription: 'Yscrifennwyd ym/mhen y wern ym hlwyf Llanarth. 1696.' (p. 313).
