Rhestr o lyfrau, etc. gan D. Silvan Evans,

A notebook in the hand of D. Silvan Evans containing a list of eighteenth century Welsh printed books 'Had from Myrddin Fardd, July 1, 1881'; a few glossary words; and brief notes on some Carmarthenshie and Cardiganshire river names. There are also some Latin exercises (Nos. [33]-40), presumably in the hand of the original owner of the volume.

Silvan Evans, Dictionary of the Welsh Language ... Geiriadur Cymraeg (Carmarthen, 1887-96); copious holographs and press cuttings by D. Silvan Evans of family memoranda (entries of births, baptisms, marriages and deaths, press cuttings of obituary notices, etc.); holograph letters to D. Silvan Evans variously entitled 'Prydyddwaith', 'Telyn y Cyssegr: Sef, Odlau a Melodion, Gan Mwyaf ar Destynau Ysgrythyrol', and 'Melodion Ysgrythyrol'.

Telyn y Cyssegr,

A volume entitled 'Telyn y Cyssegr. 1851', being a collection of hymns and religious poems, including translations, by D. Silvan Evans. Many of the compositions were published in D. Silvan Evans: Telyn Dyfi (Aberystwyth, 1898).

Silvan Evans containing transcripts of 'cywyddau' and 'awdlau' by Guto'r Glyn, Gutyn Owain, Sion Tudur, Dafydd ap Gwilim, John Rhydderch ('or Amwythig'), Tudur Aled, Lewys Môn, Owain Gwynedd and Wiliam Lleyn; 'Cedymdeithyas Amlyn ac Amic' (from the Red Book of Hergest), with notes and extracts on 'The Legend of the two faithful Brothers', 'englynion', etc. by [Walter Davies] ('Gwallter Mechain'), Hugh Evan ('Hywel o Eryri'), Rowland Hugh ('o'r Graienyn, Bala') and [John Jones] ('Tegid'), occasioned partly by bardic controversies at eisteddfodau held at Corwen and Bala in 1789 (extracted partly from a manuscript of Rowland Hugh); 'Ystoria Charles' (from the Red Book of Hergest); 'Cân am Orthrymderau'r Cymry' by Siencin Lygad Rhawlin (c. 1695) (transcribed 24 June, 1880, from Llanover MS[c]40 i.e. NLW MS 13127, pp. 399-401, and printed in Y Genhinen, 1883, pp 135-6); 'Marwnad y Tri Morwr o Aberporth -- ' by Evan Thomas Rhys; 'Hen ddywediadau neu ddiarhebion Cymreig'; an English translation by Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain') of 'Canu i Ddewi' by Gwynfardd Brycheiniog; etc. The spine is lettered 'Gwaith G.
