A holograph essay entitled 'Traethawd Beirniadol ar Athroniaeth William James' by 'Diwyd o Geredigion' [the Reverend William Benjamin, Garth, Llangollen]. The essay was awarded the prize at the National Eisteddfod at Aberystwyth, 1916.

Three holograph letters from [Richard Jones Owen] ('Glaslyn'; 1831-1909), Penrhyndeudraeth, to his grand-daughter Elizabeth] Glaslyn Owen, Llanrwst, 1903-1907 (the teaching of Welsh in Secondary Schools, the recipient's studies, the recipient's marriage, personal); and manuscripts of John Owen ('Ap Glaslyn'; 1857-1934), including a holograph poem, 'Rhiangerdd Gwen o' r Ddol', which was awarded the prize at an eisteddfod at Llandudno, 1887, a scrap-book, 1882-1896 and undated, relating to eisteddfodau and literary and musical festivals, a certificate in elocution, 1885, and a certificate of ordination as Calvinistic Methodist minister, 1919.

Two holograph poems by John Morgan ('Ioan Trithyd'), farmer and poet, of Llantrithyd, afterwards of St. Marychurch, co. Glamorgan. The first is entitled 'Pryddest 'Ar enedigaeth Crist' Sef testun Cyfarfod llenyddol 'Carmel' Tresimwn dydd 'Nadolig' 1867'. The second poem, a satire, lacks the title.

A copy of a survey, 1822, and vestry minutes and accounts of the overseers of the poor, 1823-1892, of the parish of Llanfairorllwyn, co. Cardigan.

Evan Davies ('Myvyr Morganwg'): Hynafiaeth Aruthrol Trwn, neu Orsedd Beirdd Ynys Brydain a'i Barddas Gyfrin ... (Pontypridd, [1875]). Attached to the upper and lower end-papers are brief notes on 'Myvyr Morganwg' by Henri Gaidoz [see 561]; a list by Llywarch Reynolds, Merthyr Tudful, of the published works of 'Myvyr Morganwg'; and a holograph letter from Llywarch Reynolds to Henri Gaidoz, 1880 (relating largely to the life and writings of 'Myvyr Morganwg').

A holograph letter from [the Reverend] John Elias ('o Fô'), Llanfechell, to Mr. F. Carmichael, Llysdulas, near Amlwch, 1822 (explaining the effects of revivals upon the behaviour of the congregations at Welsh Nonconformist religious meetings).

A holograph preface revised by John Lewis, vicar of Minster, co. Kent, for the second edition (1723) of his The history of the life and sufferings of ... John Wicliffe ... (1st ed., London, 1720). The work was completed on 5 November, 1721, and is described on the fly-leaf as 'A new Preface to Mr. Lewis's History of John Wicliffe: in Mr. Lewis's own hand-writing. This being an Original'. At the end of the volume is 'A Glossary explaining the old and obscure words in Dr. Wiclif's writings'.

A steward's account book of Newtown (Montgomeryshire) Wesleyan Circuit for the period 1830-1867. The accounts are almost entirely in the form of statements of receipts and disbursements in respect of successive quarterly meetings. Insets in the volume include a receipt, [18]48, from Thos. Kempster, Welsh Pool, to the Newtown Circuit for the payment of £31.3s. in settlement of a claim; statements of prospective income and present income, 1866; and a holograph letter from Jno. Davies, Newtown, circuit steward, to the Reverend Chas. Prest, Islington, London, and a reply, 1866 (the division of the circuit and the possibility of a grant towards the support of ministers at Newtown and Welshpool).

An elaborately bound volume lettered 'Trade Tokens (XVII century) Wales', containing a copy of George C. Williamson: Trade Tokens Issued in the Seventeenth Century in [Wales] by Corporations, Merchants, Tradesmen, Etc. [1889], together with marginal and interleaved annotations and copious additions in the hand of R. D. Roberts, Bethesda. Bound into the volume are a holograph letter, [19]03, from James W. Lloyd, Kington, to R. D. Roberts, and a note [1914] in the hand of John Ward, F.S.A., National Museum of Wales, both documents relating to a Holyhead token.

A journal ('Notes') of a three weeks' tour by Horace Francis, beginning on 24 June, 1837, from London to Worcester, Malvern, Ledbury, Ross, Goodrich Court, Monmouth, Chepstow, Llandogo, Tintern Abbey, Newport, Cardiff, Pyle, Margam House, Neath, Llandilo, Lampeter, Aberaeron, Aberystwith, Devil's Bridge, Machynlleth, Dolgelley, Cader Idris, Rhiadyr Du (Rheadr Du), Maentwrog, Tan y Bwlch, Pont Aberglaslyn, Beddgelert, Dinas Emrys, Nant Gwynant, Llanberis Pass, Snowdon, Llanberis (visits to Falls, Dolbadarn Tower, Slate Quarry, and Copper Mine), Caernarvon, Bangor, Penrhyn Castle, Penmaen Mawr, Aber Conway [Conway], Llanrwst, Bettws y Coed, Pont ar Voelas [Pentrefoelas], Corwen, Llangollen (visits to Castle Dinas Bran, Valle Crucis Abbey, and Plas Newydd), Chirk, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Birmingham, Warwick, Kenilworth, and Leamington. NLW MS 11596B has a pen-and-ink drawing of Devil's Bridge as frontispiece, and NLW MS 11597B a similar drawing of Llanberis Lake.

A petition, 1909, addressed to H[orace] A[rthur] Rose, District and Sessions Judge in the Punjab, by a native of a market Town or bazaar, relating to the latter's shop; together with brief memoranda and correspondence relating to the translation of the document.

Alfred Jones, M.A., F.S.A., London, relating to the formation and development of Volunteer Companies in Wales during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, including Caernarvon and Bangor Volunteer Infantry, Loyal Newborough Volunteer Infantry, Snowdon Rangers Riflemen Volunteer Infantry, Conway Volunteers, Loyal Eifionydd Volunteer Infantry, Royal Welch Volunteers, Swansea Gentlemen Volunteer Yeomanry Cavalry, Pembrokeshire Yeomanry Cavalry, etc. (see also NLW MS 11558C).

A scrapbook containing press cuttings of reports of meetings of the Haverfordwest School Board, 1871-1876. The volume was originally an arithmetic exercise book.

Four holograph letters to the Reverend Dr. [William] Buckland, Christ Church, Oxford, from J[oshua] Trimmer, Caerna[r]von, etc., 1834-1836 (a 'good budget' of 'diluvial news' from Caernarvonshire, the 'alluvia' of Dublin Bay, etc.) (together with one draft reply), and from J[ohn] E[ddowes] Bowman [the elder], from Varteg near Ponty Pool, Monmouthshire, and from Gresford, near Wrexham, 1836 (papers read at the British Association meetings at Bristol, the excavation of the Cefn bone cave); and one holograph letter from Geo. Cumming, Dolhyfryd, near Denbigh, to the Reverend Edward Stanley (of Adderley) [sic] at the British Association, Bristol, 1836 (observations on the limestone caves at Cefn).

Inset is a holograph letter from Spencer [Bulkeley] Wynn, aft. 3rd baron Newborough, from Glynllifon, to John Rowlands, Plastirion, Carnarvon, 1828 (rents of quillets at Nefyn originally included in the charity).

An account book of the rents and profits of the charity estate devised by John Maurice (Morris) [of Caernarvon], gent. [by his will of 20 July, 1709], in the parishes of Llanrug and Llanbeblig, Caernarvonshire, 1833-1853.

An album compiled by T. Lewis Old, Aberystwyth, containing printed matter, press cuttings, and correspondence relating to the National Eisteddfod and in particular to the accompanying Singing Festival ('Gymanfa Ganu Genedlaethol') held at Aberystwyth in August, 1916. A few items at the end relate to a similar Singing Festival held in conjunction with the National Eisteddfod at Birkenhead in September, 1917.

A volume of press cuttings, with some additional manuscript notes, of a column entitled 'O'r Gell Gymysg' published in Y Genedl y 'Gwyn ap Gwilym' [i.e. J. Wynne Parry, Caernarvon]. The column relates to Caernarvon antiquities ('Hen Gaernarfon').
