The office of the dead, substantially as in F. Procter & C. Wordsworth, Breviarum ad usum insignis ecclesiae Sarum (Cambridge, 1879-1886), II, 271-82 (ff. 1-50, one leaf wanting before f. 1 and one after f. 46); antiphons, responses and versicles are all noted for music; written in textura, rubrics and staves in red, plain red initials, perhaps mid 15 cent. Added prayers in cursive hands on f. 50v. Quire 8 (ff. 51-8) is from an earlier manuscript, perhaps first half 15 cent., written in textura with blue initials and red penwork; it begins and ends abruptly, containing part of the litany followed by psalm 118. Quire 9 (ff. 59-63), in a cursive hand, on paper, second half 15 cent., concludes psalm 118 and has collects and a post-communion from masses for the dead (including that for a bishop) and part of the commendation of souls.

A manuscript armorial of English and Welsh families entitled The nomenclature or Heralds Alphabett of Surnames, L-Z (vol. II), with additional notes by Peter Le Neve (1661-1729), Norroy King at Arms. Painted coats-of-arms have been affixed to the manuscript at relevant points throughout the work.

An incomplete copy of Nicholas Culpeper: The English Physician Enlarged ... (edition unknown), with additional manuscript notes on herbs by William Bona, Llanpumpsaint, who has also indicated every herb known to him and grown in his garden. Thomas Evans (Tomos Glyn Cothi) (1764-1833) has entered what appears to be a list of money gifts at a so-called bidding in Carmarthenshire, possibly on the occasion of his own marriage.

An account book of David Jameson, maltster, of Bailey Street, Oswestry, 1800-1825, to which have been added a single entry for 1844 and accounts of goods (tea, coffee, sugar, etc.) received in 1871. The volume was subsequently used as an album for cuttings from Bye-Gones.

A breviary, use of Sarum, from Lanteglos by Fowey, Cornwall, mid 15 cent. Comprises temporale (ff. 1-182), dedication of a church (ff. 182-8 verso), benedictions (f. 189 recto-verso), calendar (ff. 190-5 verso), psalter (ff. 197-281 verso, four leaves wanting after f. 230 and two after f. 296, with litany on ff. 275-8 verso), commune (ff. 282-321 verso), sanctorale (ff. 322-451 verso). On ff. 451 verso-75, added by three hands, are offices for nova festa including Saints David, Chad, John of Beverley and Winifred, the Visitation, St Osmund, and the Transfiguration; the first four are included in the calendar by the primary hand, the last three, together with the feast of the Name of Jesus, are added. Also added to the calendar by hands of second half 15 cent. are Saints Bridget, Patrick, Beuno and 'Willeus' (patron saint of Lanteglos by Fowey) and the dedication of the church of Lanteglos. Willeus is also added to the litany on f. 275 verso. Plain red and blue initials.

Letter, 2 January [1682], from John Edwards to [Henry] Herbert concerning the holding of courts at Dud[le]ston, and asking whether it is a manor or a hundred.

A manuscript containing the names of all rectories 'in the kingdom of England and Calais and the Marches thereof' of the annual value of over £10, arranged in dioceses, deaneries and counties, followed by the names of all vicarages in England, Wales and the Marches of the annual value of over £10, similarly arranged, all having been transcribed from the Liber Regis in the First Fruits and Tenths Office.

Deeds, 1728-1850, relating to the manor of Golon and other properties in Radnorshire, and Ludlow, Shropshire; deeds and documents, 1778-1808, relating to the manors of Brilley and Eardisley and other properties, Herefordshire, and the manor of Aberedw and other properties in Radnorshire; and a schedule of the Whitehead estate in Radnorshire, [early 20th century].

The fonds comprises case papers, 1903-1973, dealing with interested parties within Wales and/or the London area who had some sort of Welsh connection. Included are papers dealing with land and property transfer, receivership and company liquidation, defamation and compensation, opposition to parliamentary bills, the settlement of personal estate, contempt of court and general legal matters. Not all of the issues addressed in the files actually resulted in court cases. The majority of the files consist of legal papers such as instructions and notes to counsel, briefs to counsel, opinions of counsel, affidavits, statements, declarations, summonses, claims and orders, often in draft form or as official copies, and solicitors' charges and bills. These are usually accompanied by correspondence made up of original letters and copy letters, both office copies and carbon copies, as well as handwritten notes and occasional telegrams, bills and receipts. Frequently, the files also contain associated documents such as copies of leases, agreements and deeds, plans and maps, accounts, reports and transcriptions of evidence, together with relevant printed material such as sale particulars, parliamentary bills and published reports.
