The Devil's Music

Material relating to playwright and screenwriter Alan Plater's three-part radio play The Devil's Music (2001), a work based on stories from the Women's Jazz Archive, particularly that of the Fisk Jubilee Singers, and for which Jen Wilson acted as music/history consultant. Material includes scripts, cast list, recording schedule, agreements and correspondence, largely between Jen Wilson, Alan Plater and the BBC.

Opus 22: Clarinet Concertino (original)

Ink score, [1965], titled Opus 22: 'Clarinet Concertino'. The score includes parts for violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, double bass, flute 1, flute 2, oboe, horn 1, and trumpet 1, and was originally commissioned by the BBC, [1965].

Opus 51: Canticle No.3 The Sleeping Lord

Facsimile copy of ink score for tenor, string quartet and piano, composed between February and May 1983, dated 27th June 1983 and titled Opus 51: 'Canticle No.3 The Sleeping Lord: Fragments of a Poem by David Jones.' The work was commissioned by the Guild for the Promotion of Welsh Music in association with the Welsh Arts Council for the Swansea Festival, 1983. The file also includes a typewritten copy of the poem 'The Sleeping Lord' by David Jones.
