The chronological list of the extant proceedings of the Court baron has been compiled from the following sources:. (1) Court leet rolls (1373-1540). (2) Court rolls (temp. Eliz.) and court books (temp. 1-4 Chas I, and 1728-1777. (3) Estreats [court rolls] 1600-1660 - a very full and elaborate series. (4) Bailiffs' accounts of fines and amercements. Miscellanea. (5) References to papers recording 'The issues of pleas in the court baron' which are occasionally included in the files of declarations, etc., scheduled in section II, have not been included.
