The file consists of colour photocopies of letters presumably retained by the family, including a letter, 1939, relating to Peter Thomas' commission in the Royal Air Force; letter, 1941 to his father confirming that he was held as a prisoner of war; five letters, 1963, 1970, 1973, 1976 and undated, addressed to Peter Thomas from Ted Heath MP; a letter, 1966, from William Whitelaw MP; a letter, 1969, from Sir Alec Douglas-Home MP; and two letters, 1981 and 1983 from Margaret Thatcher MP.

Papers of the Welsh-Canadian composer John Metcalf (1946- ) of Llanfair Clydogau, Ceredigion. The collection includes pencil scores of compositions, papers relating to the Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada, a set of programmes for the Swansea Festival of Music and the Arts (1968 onward), and audio-visual materials.

A dissertation, by the donor, submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the BA History degree at the University of Southampton (13/5/2021), entitled 'You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs: an investigation into the role of Western correspondents and governments in the cover-up of the Ukrainian Famine, 1932-33'. The contribution of the journalist Gareth Jones in uncovering the Holodomor is covered in this study.
