Yr Eiliadau,

A notebook bearing the name of John Peter ('Ioan Pedr'), 'Bala, Rag. [sic] 1869' containing poetry by him, chiefly 'englynion', under the title 'Yr Eiliadau', some items dated, 1868-74. Only a small part of the volume (17 pp.) has been used.

Yr Odydd Cymreig ... [etc.],

A composite volume made up of copies of Yr Odydd Cymreig, Cyf. 1 (1842), Rhif 2, 3, 4, and articles on 'Llyfrgelloedd ' (Y Traethodydd, 1858-9), 'Y Bardd o'r Nant a'i Waith' (Y Traethodydd, 1875), 'Y Bardd o'r Nant a'r Cerddi Bedydd' (Y Traethodydd, 1876), and 'Sallwyr Cymraeg', a review of Twr Dafydd: sef Salmau Dafydd wedi eu cyfaddasu ar Gân ... gan y Parchedig William Rees, Liverpool (Dinbych: Thomas Gee, 1875), followed by some miscellaneous press-cuttings.

Ysgrif ar Forysiaid Môn,

A notebook in the hand of J. H. Davies containing an incomplete essay on the significance of the Morris brothers of Anglesey as interpreters of the literary revival in Wales in the eighteenth century.

Ysgrif-lyfr Hywel Eryri,

A manuscript.volume (28 ff.) containing poetical compositions ('englynion', 'penillion', hymns and carols, etc.) almost entirely by Hugh Evans ('Hywel Eryri' or 'Hugh Eryri' [?1764-1847]), some dated 1827-8 and 1842-3. It seems doubtful whether the volume is in his autograph as an englyn at the end by Morris Roberts, Melin Llanllyfni, dated 22 June 1847, is headed 'Englyn a gyfansoddwyd ar yr achlysur gladdu yr oedranus Fardd "Hywel Eryri".' A page or pages are missing at both the beginning and the end of the volume.

Ystoria Charlys,

A volume containing two texts of 'The Travels of Charlemagne To Jerusalem and Constantinople', the one in French and the other in Welsh. The latter is from the Red Book of Hergest (Jesus College MS 1, col. 605 ff.) and is said to 'have been 'Transcribed from a copy made by Mr John Rhys, and collated with the original MS by Mr Llywarch Reynolds, March 8th 1870, and recopied from the transcript of Mr Reynolds, by Thomas Stephens', 22 July 1872.

An incomplete annotated transcript by Daniel Silvan Evans of 'Ystoria de Carolo Magno' from a transcript made by Ll[ywarch] Reynolds, Jesus College, Oxford, June 16, 1870, from the Red Book of Hergest (Jesus College MS 1, col. 381 ff.). The present text corresponds to Stephen J. Williams: Ystorya de Carolo Magno (Caerdydd, 1930), pp. 1-31.
