Family and estate papers of the Pugh family of Cymerau and Aber-mad, Cardiganshire, 1612-1987, including deeds, 1612-1897, domestic and private account books, and estate accounts of the Cymerau and Aber-mad estates, second half of the 19 cent.-20cent, business and financial papers and correspondence, late 19cent.-20cent., many relating to the Garnant Collieries Company, family and personal correspondence, late19cent.-20cent., much of which was written by members of the family while serving in India, and including correspondence between Lewis Pugh Pugh, MP for co. Cardigan (1837-1908), and his wife Veronica Harriet Pugh.

A collection of 13 documents, 1685-1860, relating to the Cymerau Estates were received. This group remains uncatalogued.

The collection comprises records from the office of Williams & Williams, Haverfordwest, solicitors, largely deeds and draft deeds, mostly 19th century, and many relating to the Haverfordwest area of Pembrokeshire. In the course of their work, Williams & Williams accumulated legal and other papers relating to their clients interests, including the estates of Ambleston, Begelly, Brawdy, Camrose, Court House, Cwmgloyne, Hean Castle, Hodgeston, Hook, Manorbier, Manorowen, Orielton, Pigeonsford, Somerton, Treffgarne, Ty Gwynne, Walwyns Castle, Welsh Hook, Wilsons, Wolfsdale and Yelverton. There are also documents relating to the Fishguard Harbour Improvement Company, several railway companies and a large number of probate records and marriage settlements. There are also groups of deeds and documents relating mainly to properties in Carmarthenshire, Glamorganshire and Pembrokeshire. There are also documents relating to church properties, nonconformist chapels, poor rate papers, articles of apprenticeship and articles of partnership.

In addition, the archive consists of deeds and documents, 1588-1864, mainly of industrial interest accumulated by John Lloyd (1833-1915), pertaining to the New Weare ironworks, Goodrich, Hereford; the Hirwaun ironworks; the Beaufort Iron Company, the Clydach ironworks; the Dowlais Iron Company; and the Bute Works. A substantial group of Dinas Estate records has been transferred to the Maybery Collection.
