Owen and W. Leighton, chief justice of North Wales.

Pp. 27-128 , 137-278 were written c. 1623 (see p. 176); pp. 283-314a, 315-316, 319-322 somewhat later; and pp. 128b-133, 279-282, 314b-314c, 317-318, 323-366, as well as those pages at the beginning of the manuscript, written c. 1692 (see p. 364). On p. i is a table of contents by Lewis Morris.
A manuscript containing poetry of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and including the works of Gruffydd Gryg, Guto'r Glyn, Tudur Aled, Siôn Phylip and others, some of the cited works being incomplete. The manuscript is written in two hands: pp. 1-164 were written c. 1630, while pp. 169-258 were written towards the end of the sixteenth century. On p. 1 there is a table of contents in the hand of Lewis Morris.
A manuscript containing mainly (pp. 7-181) pieces by and in the autograph of William Salesbury of Bachymbyd, in which the author evidently deliberately imitated the style and manner of Rhys Prichard ('Yr Hen Ficer'; 1579?-1644), some of which William Salesbury also copied (see also Llanstephan MS 37). The volume also includes poetry of Siôn Tudur, Gruffydd ab yr Ynad Coch and others.
A manuscript containing the Welsh Laws, being a transcript of British Museum MS Harleian Titus D. II. Three folios at the beginning and two at the end contain poetry in Welsh and Latin, etc. There are also some items of a corn account. The general style of the handwriting, which is not all in the same hand, is suggestive of the manuscripts of Dr John Davies, Mallwyd, which were copied partly by him and partly on his behalf.
A manuscript containing Y Marchog Crwydrad, being a translation into Welsh of W[illiam] Goodyear's English version of Le Voyage du Chevalier Errant by Jean de Cartigny. Egerton Phillimore has inserted the following note: 'This MS. was written by Jeuan ab Jeuan ab Madoc in the parish of Bettws, near Bridgend, Glamorganshire, in about 1575, and differs materially from the other two known MSS. - in fact it is a distinct translation, and interesting as a specimen of Glamorgan dialect. This is far the most perfect MS. of the Welsh translations of this work. The first folio is gone but is preserved in a slightly later transcript ... the missing fol. 74 ... is said to be in Brit. Mus: MS. 100 Harl: D. XVII. 2414'. On the front of the volume is written 'No. 25 / No. 144 Hauod [although this manuscript is not mentioned by Iolo Morganwg as among the Hafod collection] / No. 8'.

A manuscript containing a Welsh-English dictionary by William Gambold containing words from the Bible, the Common Prayer Book, Buchedd yr Apostolion, Annogaeth i gymmuno'n fynych yn y sacrament, etc. Folio references are frequently given, showing where the words may be found. There are three columns to each folio.
A manuscript containing, in excellent script by William Owen-Pughe, the works of Aneirin and Taliesin, etc. At the beginning of the volume are sketches of human faces, followed by notes on 'Gafis' and 'Deffrobani' and on the Irish alphabet, and a title page headed 'o Gasgliad Huw Morus, Tuddyn Tudur, 1796' (pp. i-2). The text also includes introductions to Aneirin and Taliesin (pp. 7, 63). There is no evidence that this manuscript was used for the Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales.
A manuscript containing prophecies in prose and verse and including alleged prophecies of Myrddin and Taliesin and the works of Iolo Goch, Dafydd Llwyd and Rhys Nanmor. The text at p. 39b is said to be 'copied out of the Chronicle of Guttun Owain'. The text at the end beginning 'Proffwydoliaeth Banastr o Brydain fawr ...' is continued on p. 13 of the manuscript.
A manuscript, probably in the hand of David Parry (certainly pp. 353-367 are in his writing, and cf. Llanstephan MSS 138, 147, 148) and written c. 1640 (see p. 360) containing Dares Phrygius; Geoffrey of Monmouth's Historia; Brut y Tywysogion; Cantreds and Commotes of Wales; Brut y Saeson; 'O oes Gwrtheyrn', etc.; Imago mundi; Buchedd Silvester; and poetry (cols 1396-1442, 1357-1361). This is followed by 'Meddyginiaeth', etc.; 'Music Telyn a Chrwth'; 'Englynion i Dduw ar byd by W. Cynwal'; the names of the Lord Chancellors of England, of the Bishops of Bangor down to William Roberts (bishop from 1637 to 1665), and of the Lord Presidents of Wales to John Egerton, Earl of Bridgewater (President from 1631 to 1642); followed (pp. 362-368) by poetry from a manuscript in the possession of Roger Salesbury of Rhug, the poets cited including Taliesin and Rhys Fardd. Pp. 1-351 are copied from the Red Book of Hergest.
A manuscript containing transcripts by David Parry from the Red Book of Hergest, together with other poetry, the volume being compiled before it was given to Jesus College, Oxford in 1701. The contents of the volume are as follows: A Welsh Grammar copied from the Red Book of Hergest (col. 1117), with collations by Samuel Williams from Llanstephan MS 3, p. 472 (original foliation I-Vb, 1-7); a copy of the poetry on cols 1143-1356 of the Red Book of Hergest (original foliation 7-12b, original pagination 13-168, 169-265); followed by sixteen leaves at the end of the manuscript containing poems by Robin Ddu o Fôn, Tudur Aled, Rhys Nanmor and others, together with the pedigree of Sir Rhys ap Thomas. Samuel Williams has copied a good many of the older material in a modernised orthography on the side left blank by the original copyist. There are also marginalia in the hand of Moses Williams. A note, probably in the hand of Samuel Williams, on p. 265 (original pagination) reads 'All the Poetry collated March 27 . 1722'.
