A volume in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing pedigrees of Cardiganshire gentry families (pp. 1-136), together with a few from Carmarthenshire (pp. 137-163) and Pembrokeshire (pp. 164-179).
The second of two volumes (see also NLW MS 1976B) containing the concluding part of a transcript of Brut y Tywysogion from the Red Book of Hergest, in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) (pp. 279-383). A note by Ieuan (p. 383) states that he transcribed the text of the Brut in 1784 from a copy made by 'R. Davies' in 1781 (see p. 382). The text of the Brut appears to be a faithful transcript of a Llannerch manuscript.
The first of two volumes (see also NLW MS 1975B) containing an account, in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), of volumes I-VII of the Sebright Manuscripts ('being Edward Lhuyd's MSS' (p. 17)), with some extracts (pp. 17-79); and the beginning of a transcript of Brut y Tywysogion from the Red Book of Hergest (pp. 81-278); etc.
A transcript in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) of a tractate entitled 'Camropismus enervatus et triumphatus per Tyronem quemdam succenturiatum Evangelicae Militiae Cambro-britannum'. The original manuscript was written by William Maurice in 1653 (see f. 66 verso), is mainly Welsh and is strongly Protestant. Maurice wrote the material to combat 'False Doctrine, Altar worship & Holy days' and provides an alternative title of 'Arnodiadau gau athrawiaeth, allordduwiaeth ag uchel-wyl-iaith, y sydd wedi ei daenu hyd y gwledydd dan enw Dr. Gruffydd a Ric: Jervis y Cyfieithydd am hynny o waith tramgwyddus'. This tractate seems never to have been printed and published, despite what appears to be a printer's/publisher's note. There is an interesting reference that reads 'cofiwch Lofft y Grog yn Llan silyn cyn ir sawdwyr dorri'r lluniau'.
A transcript, in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), of 'Brut Gruf. ab Arthur', a compiled version of Brut y Brenhinedd 'transcribed from a very old copy of the British History on Vellum' (NLW MS 1978iB, ff. 1-109 verso, and NLW MS 1978iiB, ff. 110-261 verso); together with copies of correspondence, 1758-1765, of Edward Richard of Ystrad Meurig School and Lewis Morris, relating to Ieuan Fardd, Morris's health, literary criticism and Celtic antiquities, with special reference to Camden and Nennius (NLW MS 1978iB, ff. 111-192); and copies of two letters from 'Dr. Phillipps' [the Rev. James Phillips], Blaen y Pant, to Edward Richard (NLW MS 1978iB, ff. 192-194). Also included is a table of contents (ff. 195-196) and a pedigree of St David (f. 261 verso). The text of Brut y Brenhinedd was the original of the text of Brut Gruffydd ab Arthur printed in the second volume of the Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales.
A manuscript in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing triads (pp. 1-32); poetry, the poets cited including Taliesin, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Siôn Cent and Gruffydd Dwnn (pp. 33-86, 95-102); a list of Welsh holy (saints') days (pp. 87-90); names of Welsh rivers and their sources (pp. 91-94); etc. The volume also contains an appendix in the hand of D[avid] Ellis, [1787x1788]. The section containing triads is apparently left unfinished as most of p. 32 and the whole of p. 33 are blank.

A manuscript in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing a copy of Nennius's 'Eulogium Britanniæ' (ff. 1-57); notes relating to Nennius copied from a manuscript in the hand of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt (ff. 67-88); triads copied from a manuscript in the hand of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, by Lewis Morris in 1738, with marginal and intertextual notes (ff. 89-112), and from the Red Book of Hergest (ff. 137-152); 'Araith Iolo Goch' (ff. 114-116); poetry, the poets cited including Aneirin, Iolo Goch and Mabclaf ap Llywarch (ff. 119-157b); etc. On f. 189 is a table of contents in a later hand. On f. iv the title page reads 'Y Cynfeirdd Cymreig, Vol. II'. This manuscript is the source of the text of Series I of the Triads in the Myvyrian Archaiology Vol. ii, pp. 1-22. The englynion at ff. 119-122b are practically the same as those in Myvyrian Archaiology, pp. 543-547, col. i, but that the arrangement is different. The text at f. 132 was copied in September 1758 from an autograph manuscript of Edward Lhuyd. The text at f. 154 verso was transcribed from Llyfr Coch Nannau (see Mostyn MS 144) 'and collated it with my brother Lewis Morris MSS'.
A manuscript containing poetry, etc., copied 'in the year 1757 by me Evan Evans then of Merton College [Oxford]' (f. 133 verso), mostly from the Red Book of Hergest; and from Jesus College MS 3 (ff. 114-132) It appears that these transcripts, rather than the original manuscripts, were consulted for publication in the Myvyrian Archaiology.

A manuscript in the autograph of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd) containing vocabularies with (sometimes speculative) meanings, including terms taken from Brut y Tywysogion (pp. 69-76), names of fish (pp. 88-91), birds (pp. 93-105), etc., with illustrative quotations from poetry, myth, etc., throughout. Also included are attempts at explaining the origin of the names of rivers and places (pp. 59-68) and the origins of Welsh customs (p. 83), and a Latin-Welsh vocabulary (pp. 77-80).
A transcript, in an unidentified hand, of a manuscript in the hand of John ap Gruff[ydd] Eyton (see p. 72), containing a genealogical history from Adam to Cadwaladr in the form of illustrative tables with brief comments (pp. 1-30); and a genealogical Saxon history, similarly arranged and continued down to 1460 (pp. 31-72).

A manuscript containing 'extracts from the Anecdotes of Mr Bowyer', referring to Dr Wotton's edition of the Welsh Laws, etc. (pp. 1-42); and an extract 'from a Pedigree book of Mr. Panton of Plas Gwynn of the gentlemen of Anglesey', with references to the account of Einion ap Gwalchmai (pp. 43-49).
A volume in the hand of Ieuan Fardd containing transcripts from the White Book of Hergest (pp. 83-113), 'the Book of Gildas at Margam Abbey', and the Extent of Powysland (temp. Richard II) (pp. 69-72). The volume also contains a poem by Guto'r Glyn dedicated to Sir Roger Kynaston which was translated into English by William Maurice in 1672 (pp. 25-44); a list of those who bear arms in Wales, arranged alphabetically with a brief description of the arms after each name (p. 45); and a copy of an indenture, 2 April 13 Eliz., between Robert Earl of Leicester and Ieuan ap Lewis Lloyd (p. 73); etc. The 'Dream of Maxen' (pp. 1-24) appears to have been copied directly from Peniarth MS 16.
