The papers comprise correspondence files, 1918-1982, among them general and political letters to Goronwy Roberts and constituency correspondence; subject files, 1913-1981, including papers concerning foreign affairs (some deriving from Goronwy Roberts's trips abroad), domestic politics, Welsh politics and matters relating to Wales, and files of material concerning Caernarfonshire; various personalia, 1918-1982; and miscellaneous papers, 1900-1997, including printed items and press cuttings.

A large collection of the late Alun Evans's papers relating mainly to his connections with the Football Association of Wales.

The group comprises printed items acquired by Lord and Lady Goronwy-Roberts, 1900-1997; press cuttings, 1922-1993; typescript material, 1930-1981; and printed miscellanea, 1930-1981, including invitations to functions, programmes and tickets of admission etc.

Minutes of the Cymmrodorion council and other committees, 1873-1970, secretaries' papers, 1873-1958, 1996, librarians' papers, 1904-1939, papers relating to the Society's public activities, 1876-1988, financial papers, 1879-1954, membership papers, 1873-1933, and papers relating to its constitution, 1951-1954.

Papers, 1934-1964, relating primarily to the Dafydd ap Gwilym Memorial, Strata Florida, which was commissioned by the Cymmrodorion, as well as to the Sir Henry Jones memorial, Llangernyw, which was commissioned by a fund set up under the aegis of the Cymmrodorion.

The file comprises papers relating to miscellaneous Welsh Affairs including handwritten notes, a copy of a draft charter for incorporation of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion and a government report in Wales and Monmouthshire 1950-51.

A volume of miscellaneous transcripts and extracts largely of Carmarthen and Carmarthenshire interest. The contents include an alphabetical list of place-names in England, Wales, and Scotland, with etymological notes; an alphabetical list of English, Welsh, and other personal names, with brief notes on their derivation; notes on the chief elements in Celtic river names, English place-name elements, English vocabulary, Carmarthen fairs, folk-names, genealogy, early Britain, Owen Glyndwr, the monastic orders, the Stone-Age men, 'Twm Sion Catty's alleged marriage with the Heiress of Ystradffin', etc.; annotated transcripts of the last letters written by David Rees, Llanelly, who was hanged at Carmarthen in 1888; an account of Sir Hugh Vaughan, the duellist, from 'Les Chroniques de Jersey' written in 1585 by Samuel de Carteret, with an English translation; a transcript of a letter from Theo. A bound volume labelled 'Eisteddfod Proceddings', compiled by William Jenkins Rees (1772-1855), rector of Cascob, Radnorshire, and consisting largely of printed notices addressed to him by Cambrian Societies in Wales and in London. The contents include a notice of an eisteddfod under the auspices of the Gwyneddigion Society at Caerwys, 1798, together with Gosodaethau a Rheolau Cymdeithas y Gwyneddigion and other material relating to the Society; a draft consitution of the Cambrian Society in the hand of W. J. Manuscripts and papers of Iolo Morganwg and Taliesin ab Iolo, [16 cent.]-[20 cent., first ¼], comprising correspondence of Iolo Morganwg, 1676-1826; manuscripts and other papers, [16 cent.]-1900, mostly collected or written by Iolo Morganwg, including Welsh and English poetry and prose, pedigrees, grammars, and other literary and personal papers; correspondence, 1809-1864, and other papers, 1761-[1840s], of Taliesin ab Iolo; and family correspondence of Taliesin's grandson, Aneurin Williams, [?1868]-1908.

The collection includes the personal and professional correspondence and papers of George Julian Selwyn Scovell while employed by the Ministry of National Service at the end of the First World War and the Coalition Liberal Organisation during the post-war premiership of David Lloyd George along with correspondence, photographs, postcards, ephemera and publications related to David Lloyd George which were collected by Tony O'Connor.
