Tredegar Park (BRA Group)

This group represents records from the offices of Messrs Riders (later Messrs Rooks, Rider & Co.), the Tredegar estate's London solicitors. The records were deposited at NLW by the British Records Association (BRA) in various 'parcels' between 1969 and 1992: parcel 1537 (deposited 1969, 1975), parcel 1606 (deposited 1970), parcel 1706 (deposited 1970, 1981), parcel 1736 (deposited 1975), parcel 1897 (deposited 1975), parcel 2094 (deposited 1982), parcel 2230 (deposited 1985), parcel 2133 (deposited 1987), and parcel 2389 (deposited 1992). The BRA's parcel numbers form the basis of the reference numbers in this group; within the parcels the arrangement is by bundle, excepting a small number of rentals, ledgers etc. Original bundles have been retained where they existed.

Legal papers

The papers comprise records relating to court actions concerning the Tredegar estate and the Morgan family.

Title deeds

Most of these deeds and papers are in their original bundles, although a very few are loose deeds that have been bundled together for convenience. Most bundles are title deeds, although some might be better described as family deeds, and a number of bundles of deeds will be found with the family papers (Tredegar P) rather than here.

Rowland Morgan's charity ledger

Ledger accounts of Rowland Morgan's charities, 1929-1957. The accounts of Rowland Morgan's charities end with pencil notes that they were included in the sale to Eagle Star Insurance Company, 2 Aug. 1959. The other accounts end without explanation.
