Any meeting held on Christmas day, except for the purposes of religion, should be declared illegal. Hopes to arrive in good time tomorrow. Should depend in the first place on special constables, and have the Yeomanry ready in case of emergency. Has countermanded the Llanfyllin troop, and ordered the substitution of the Newtown troop.

Has authorised the mayor of Welch Pool to call upon him [Capt. Burton] for a detachment of one sergeant and ten privates in case of emergency.
