A volume containing two collections of transcripts of poetry, with copious annotations, in the hand of Owen Williams ('Owain Gwyrfai'), Waunfawr. The first collection, entitled 'Llwyn y Gell', includes 'cywyddau', etc. by Gruff. The sources used by the scribe for his transcripts of poems include 'L[l]yfr ysgrif Eiddo Mr. Owen Roberts gynt o Bentraeth Mon', 'L[l]yfrau Owen Gruffydd Llanystumdwy', and '[L]lyfrau M.S. pwdredig eiddo Mr. Jonathan Jones, Colector of Carnarfon 1855'. At the beginning is a list of poets whose titles were taken from Y Greal and a list of titles of poems transcribed in full. The collection was compiled during the period 1855-9, although the fly-leaf bears the scribe's name dated 1863. The second collection, beginning at the end, is entitled 'Y Gell Gynen, ('herwydd canau cynen sydd ynddo') and contains fliting poems ('ymrysongerddi') between Edmwnt Prys and William Cynwal and Sion Philip and Edmunt Prys, together with additional 'cywyddau' by Edmunt Prys. This section of the manuscript was compiled between 1844 and 1846, but there are some additions of the period 1859-61. Recorded on the upper end paper are timber purchase accounts of Owen Williams, 1844-5. The manuscript is lettered on the spine 'Owain Gwyrfai MS'.

A manuscript in the hand of Samuel Williams (c. 1660 - c. 1722), vicar of Llandyfriog, Cardiganshire, containing forty-four sermons translated from or based on several authors e.g. [Simon] Patrick [successively bishop of Chichester and of Ely], [Nicholas] Brady [the elder], [Thomas] Adams, [Friedrich] Spanheim, [George] Smalridge [bishop of Bristol], [Theophilus] Dorrington, Cl[ement] Ellis, [Robert] Bragge [dissenting minister], etc. There is a list of contents at the beginning of the volume, and hymns ('Myfi yw'r Adgyfodiad mawr...', etc.) and metrical psalms by [Edmwnd Prys and] William Middleton have been written on the fly-leaves and in blank spaces at the end of some of the sermons. There are some additions, among them the Lord's Prayer, in the hand of the scribe's son, Moses Williams (1685-1742), vicar of Defynnog. Entries on the back of one of the original covers, also in the hand of Moses Williams, indicate that some of the sermons were preached at Dyvynog [Defynnog] and Cap[el] Ill[t]ud during the years 1728-30.

A notebook in the autograph of R. Prys Morris ('Robyn Frych') [Dolgellau] containing copies of two 'cywyddau' by Edmwnd Prys ('Cywydd Priodas' beginning 'Rhai a gar yn rhagorawl', 1623, and 'Cywydd Marwnad Sion Phylip Bardd ac Athro' beginning 'Rhodd Dduw gwyn yw rhwydd ganu', 1620), and a note by R. Prys Morris referring to the death of his mother, Elinor Morris, 12 September 1875.

A small composite volume (124 pp.) containing brief chronicles written by Robert Vaughan of Hengwrt with some annotations by Lewis Morris and a few additional items written towards the end of the eighteenth century. The contents are as follows: p. 1, a note concerning 'Ystradmeurig' and Edward Richards [sic] (cf. Panton MS 24, pp. 134-5); pp. 9-24, 'Allan o hen llyvrae memrwn wedi eu scrivennu ers gwell no 300 mlynedh y cawd y cofion hynn : Oes Gorthyyrn Gorthenev hyt weyth Vadon ydymladaud Arthur ar Saesson ... or pan doeth Normyn gyntaf (y ynys Brydyn [yny aeth Gruffut ygwystel, dwy flyned ar bymthec a deugain a chant hyt vrwydr Derwyn, chwe blyned a chue chant]', followed by a note in the hand of L[ewis] M[orris], 'This vastly differs from that printed with H. E:h:'). In connection with the Reverend Evan Herbert, see Panton MS 24, p. 135; he was rector of Llanfairfechan, Caernarvonshire from 1801 until his death in 1830. The chronicles are to be found in Panton MS 23, pp. 155-229, and Panton MS 38, pp.137-145, but whether the Panton manuscripts contain a direct transcript from the present manuscript is uncertain. There are some pencil notes in the autograph of St George Armstrong Williams. The number '22' occurs on a label on the cover, with '384' written in pencil above.

A small volume entitled 'Cell-gasgl Sion Lleyn, 1805', containing 'englynion' (chiefly epitaphs), stanzas in free metre including hymn stanzas, and one or two longer poems (e.g. 'Awdl ar Dosturi 1809' and 'Pillion i Dwm or Nant herwydd ei Lyfr, sef Ban y Byd - Creglais o Groglofft &c, 1809, Ebrill 27') by and in the autograph of John Roberts ('Sion Lleyn'). Other poets represented are Griffth Williams('Guttun Peris'), W. Elias and O[wen] Griffith. There is also a list of unfamiliar Welsh words ('Geiriau Cymraeg dieithrol yn amlwg'), with the following note: 'Hyn a gymerwyd o gasgliadau Thos Prys Esqur, Plas Iolun, a D. Ddu a S. Lleyn'. On p. 58 is the note 'Mai 11. 1812 Priodais' [see Cwrtmawr MS 510, p. 106].

A composite volume containing lists of Welsh words and their meanings, some in the autograph of John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), others from printed sources; notes in the autograph of R. Prys Morris, including references to a number of 'cywyddau', etc. by Edmwnd Prys in BM Add MSS and a few extracts from [Joseph] Besse, A collection of the sufferings of the people called Quakers (London, 1753); part of a letter from the Reverend Evan Evans [? Llansadwrn Rectory, Anglesey] to 'Myrddin Fardd'; and transcripts in the autograph of 'Myrddin Fardd' and others of poetry by Rowland Jones, Richard Hughes, Cefn Llanfair, Cadwaladr Cesail, Thomas Williams ('Twm Pedrog'), Morys Dwyfech, Huw Arwystl, [ ] 'Gutto o Leyn' (d. 1867) (beginning wanting) and [Evan Pritchard] 'Ieuan Lleyn', some printed in J. Jones ['Myrddin Fardd'], Cynfeirdd Lleyn (Pwllheli, 1905).

A scrap-book compiled, with a holograph introduction and table of authors, by David Evans, Llanrwst containing press cuttings, largely from Llais y Wlad, 1875-?81, of 'cywyddau' and 'awdlau', with annotations. The poetry consists mainly of the flyting 'cywyddau' of Edmwnd Prys and William Cynwal ('Yr Ymrysonfeydd rhwng Edmwnd Prys, Archddiacon Meirionydd, a William Cynwal, Prydydd ac Arwyddfardd') and 'cywyddau' ('Cyfansoddiadau') by Dafydd Llwyd ab Llywelyn ab Gruffydd Fychan. Holograph letters from [the Rev.] Walter Davies (Gwallter Mechain) to Daniel Jones, Wrexham, 182[ ]-1825 (2) (points relating to the publishing of the writer's two-volume edition [?of the poetical works of Huw Morus, viz. Eos Ceiriog, sef Casgliad o Ber Ganiadau Huw Morus . . . (Yn Ngwrecsam, 1823)], the writer's doubts as to the wisdom of publishing an unrevised edition of the metrical psalms of Edmwnd Prys, a suggestion that opinions on this point be sought through the columns of Y Gwyliedydd, criticisms that some of Prys's lines were stiff ('anystwyth hynod') and did not lend themselves to any measure, references to Titus Lewis's edition of Prys's psalms [Pigion o Salmau Canu yn ôl cyfansoddiad Edmwnd Prys (Caerfyrddin, 1810)], the belief that Lewis had introduced some changes into some of the psalms), and [John] Painter [printer, Wrexham], 1821-1825 (2) (points relating to the publishing of vol.
