The collection consists of election addresses, leaflets, circulars and other printed matter, 1837-1991, generally acquired before the establishment of the Welsh Political Archive; election addresses, leaflets etc., 1905-2019, collected by the WPA; and printed materials, 1887-2019, concerning the political parties in Wales, various pressure groups and organisations, subject files, and other miscellaneous papers.

Brecon and Radnorshire

File comprises election addresses from the Brecon and Radnorshire by-election, held on 1st August 2019, following the recall of the incumbent MP, Chris Davies. Plaid Cymru and the Wales Green Party decided not to contest the election, instead backing Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate Jane Dodds in order to avoid splitting the anti-Brexit vote.

General papers

The file comprises general material concerning the convention of the first elections to the National Assembly for Wales during May 1999. They include circulars urging electors to take the elections seriously and cast their votes, and material on the proposed functions and powers of the National Assembly.
