Three notebooks in the hand of Hugh Jones ('Erfyl') - (a) an account book containing board and lodging expenses, 1828-33, 1843-4, an account with the Reverend R. M. Bonnor, 1831-2, washing account, 1844, account of lessons given to 'Master Wm. Lowe', 1829-30, 1832, and 'Master Temple', undated, and a list of 'situations' held by 'Erfyl' during the period 1810-30; (b) a 'cywydd' in memory of Owen Jones ('Owain Myfyr')' and (c) transcripts of 'carolau', or parts of 'carolau', by Hugh Jones, Maesglasau ('H. J. Senr.'), Hugh Jones, Llangwm, Ellis Roberts ('y cowper'), William Edwards, Ysceifiog, Thomas Edwards ('Twm o'r Nant'), and others. Used as cover and end papers for the latter are two copies of a printed notice of a meeting of the Llanfyllin New Friendly Society, 1816.

An album of annotated autographs, photographs and engravings, printed matter, press cuttings, etc., compiled during the years 1858-1881. The volume is almost entirely devoted to persons who were prominent in the literary and musical life of Wales during this period, and it appears from internal evidence to have been well known to the compiler's friends and contemporaries. The autographs are largely in the form of personal entries, recorded mainly at national and other eisteddfodau, but there are also a number of mounted holograph letters, 'cut-out' signatures from holograph letters, and franks. An interleaved volume (385 pp.) belonging to J. H. Davies made up of pages from Y Traethodydd, 1886-92 ('Hen Gerddi y Cymry', a catalogue of Welsh ballads compiled by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), with pages 346-50 from Revue Celtique, II (part of a supplement [by D. Silvan Evans] to Llyfryddiaeth y Cymry). There are numerous additions and annotations by J. H. Davies, including cross-references to his own Bibliography of Welsh ballads printed in the 18th century (London, 1911) and an index to the authors, etc. of the pre-1800 ballads in the 'Myrddin Fardd' catalogue. The numbers used in the index correspond to the numbers in the 'Myrddin Fardd' catalogue while the page references are to the pages in the present volume. Loose inside are a list of ballads, etc. by Thomas Edwards ('Twm o'r Nant'), Hugh Jones, Llangwm and Ellis Roberts, with number or page references as before, and a letter, 1908, from D. Rhys Phillips, Swansea to [J. H. Davies] (jottings on three Shrewsbury 'effusions').
