Papers relating to Iolo Morganwg's imprisonment in Cardiff Gaol for debt (98/1-25) and to the parish of Rumney and Manor of Rompney, Monmouthshire, where he briefly farmed land given him by his father-in-law (99/1-54).

A collection of South Wales pedigrees compiled between 1578 and 1588. It also contains a copy (mutilated) of a poem by Siôn Cent beginning 'Pannyd Ryfedd wirionedd ar inion olwc' and a list (also mutilated) of the names of the sheriffs of Breconshire. Their year of office is not given, but there are 92 names in all, the last three being Thomas Bulcott, Thomas Gwyn, and John Stedman: the list differs slightly from that printed in Theophilus Jones's History of Brecknockshire. Iolo Morganwg has annotated the volume and has frequently written 'Dal sylw!' or similar phrases in the margins. He has also picked out various names which occur in the pedigrees, among them 'Meredydd ap Rhys ap Rhiccert' (p. 41) and 'Rhys goch ap Rhiccert' (p. [1]15), although in the second instance the name in the pedigree is 'wenllian verch Rys goch ap Rys voel ap Rikert ap einion ap gollwyn'.

Twenty-eight notebooks and bundles, 1796-1815, consisting of travel journals and agricultural notes relating mainly to Iolo Morganwg's work for the Board of Agriculture in Glamorgan and Carmarthenshire in 1796 and his contribution to Gwallter Mechain's General View of the Agriculture and Domestic Economy of South Wales (London, 1815).
Also included are fragments of tours in parts of England (E5/13); a journal of his tour to North Wales in 1799, collecting materials for the Myvyrian Archaiology (E5/18, formerly 'IAW 144'); bundles of loose agricultural notes (E5/26-27); and geological notes relating to Glamorgan (E5/28).

A commonplace book compiled by the historian William Davies, Cringell. The contents are mainly topographical notes and extracts relating to Wales, and the works from which extracts have been made include Camden's Britannia, ed. by Gibson (1772), The Modern Universal British Traveller (?London, 1779), and Henry Penruddocke Wyndham, A Tour Through Monmouthshire and Wales, 2nd edn (Salisbury, 1781).
On the first page is a quotation from John Dyer's poem 'Grongar Hill', superscribed 'Motto for an Hist. - & Descriptive Account of S. Wales'. The volume also contains a brief account of the Eisteddfod held at Bala in September 1789 by the Gwyneddigion and the beginning of an English translation of Ellis Wynne, Gweledigaetheu y Bardd Cwsc. There are also one or two recipes in an earlier hand.

Drafts and notes in the hand of Taliesin Williams for the volume Iolo Manuscripts, A Selection of Ancient Welsh Manuscripts, in prose and verse, from the collection made by the late Edward Williams, Iolo Morganwg,… with English translations and notes by his son, the late Taliesin Williams (Ab Iolo) of Merthyr Tydfil (Liverpool: Welsh MSS Society, 1848).
Included are manuscript drafts of the Welsh texts on pp. 3-328 passim (T4/1), drafts of the English translations on pp. 341-496 passim (T4/2), drafts for the footnotes on pp. 332-489 passim (T4/3), a draft of pp. 331-507 passim combining text and footnotes (T4/4), and notebooks containing notes and memoranda relating to the volume (T4/5-11). Also included is a bundle of draft texts, relating mostly to Welsh saints in a format similar to T4/1 but which were either omitted from the volume or intended for another book on Bonedd y Saint (T4/12).
