Eight typescript poems, [1970]-[1972], by R. S. Thomas, published in Poetry Wales, 6.1 (Summer 1970), 37-38, and ibid. 7.4 (Spring 1972), 9-14.
The poems are 'Vocation', [1970], 'Alma Mater', 'Dimensions', 'No', 'God's Story', 'The Hand', 'Ann Griffith' and 'Amen', [1972]. However, 'Saunders Lewis', also published in the Spring 1972 number, is not present.

Nine letters, 1955-1969, from Hamish Hamilton (ff. 14-16, 19, 21-22) and Roger Machell (ff. 17-18, 20) of Hamish Hamilton Ltd to the novelist Jack Jones, concerning the publication of his work.
The envelopes are annotated with comments by Jones.

A letter, 16 August 1815, from Dr Abraham Rees, nonconformist minister and cyclopaedist, to the engraver Wilson Lowry concerning the latter's visit to Swansea (ff. 26-27); together with an engraving, 1825, by James Thomson of a portrait of Rees (ff. 28).

A letter, dated 20 April 1945, from Leo Amery, MP, to Lady Frances Lloyd George, presenting his condolences on the death of her husband, David Lloyd George.

A letter, 17 October 1965, from the composer Grace Williams to John Moody, Director of Productions, Welsh National Opera, concerning the staging of her opera The Parlour (ff. 57-58), together with a carbon copy of his reply, dated 27 October 1965 (f. 59).

A true copy, [?1767], by F. Williams of an order, dated 10 September 1767, to the chief constables of the commote of Carnawllon [Carnwyllion], for the county militia of Carmarthenshire to assemble on 7 October 1767, the original having been signed by Francis Dyer of Court Henry, Carmarthenshire, nephew of the poet and artist John Dyer (f. 97). Added on the verso are a receipt for £20, 7 September 1778, paid by John Francis to William Saunders of Llanelli; and a monetary account, 6 May 1783, payable to Mary Henry (f. 97 verso).
A photocopy of a typed transcript, [20 cent., second ½], of the militia order is also included (f. 98).

Five letters, 1878-1895, written in Welsh and English, from members of the Thomas family, emigrants to the United States of America, to relatives in Llanbrynmair, Montgomeryshire.
One letter was written by Elizabeth and David O. Thomas, Venadocia, Van Wert County, Ohio, 29 April 1878 (ff. 103-104); two letters each were written by Abraham Thomas of Williamsburg, Iowa, 1885, 1894 (ff. 105-108), and his daughter Lizzie [Elizabeth], January 1895 (ff. 109-112). The letters contain family news and include references to agriculture (ff. 105 verso-106 verso) and Christmas celebrations (f. 106 verso) in Iowa.

Two autograph poems, [1951], by Idris Davies, entitled 'In Glasnevin Cemetery' (ff. 113-116) and 'Mists upon the sea' (f. 117), first published in Dock Leaves, 3.8 (Summer 1952), 28, and ibid. 2.6 (Michaelmas 1951), 36, respectively.
Both appear in The Collected Poems of Idris Davies, ed. by Islwyn Jenkins (Llandysul, 1972), pp. 60-61, 167, and in The Complete Poems of Idris Davies, ed. by Dafydd Johnston (Cardiff, 1994), pp. 161-163.

A letter, 29 May 1984, from Glyn Jones to Gwyn Jones (f. 131), enclosing a copy of a Russian anthology, Валлийский рассказ (Valliiskii rasskaz) (Moscow, 1983), containing prose works written by them and other Welsh and Anglo-Welsh writers; together with a typescript carbon copy reply from Gwyn Jones, [1984] (f. 132).
Also included are photocopies, [?1984], of part of Valliiskii rasskaz, comprising the title page, copyright page and the first page of text in Cyrillic script, and a list of the authors in Latin script (ff. 133-134).

A postcard, [19] August 1939, in Welsh, to the Rev. Thomas Alban Davies and his son, Gareth Alban Davies, from Mrs Hannah Davies, wife of the former and mother of the latter, on domestic matters.

A letter, 18 May 1901, in Welsh, from the poet, Ben Bowen, Kimberley, South Africa, to his sister, Ann, and brother-in-law, Jonathan Thomas, including two englynion by Bowen.
Parts of the letter, including the englynion, are published in Ben Bowen yn Neheudir Affrica, ed. by Myfyr Hefin (Llanelli, 1928), pp. 23-24.

A letter, 20 November 1942, in Welsh, from J. Oliver Stephens of the Presbyterian College, Carmarthen, to the poet Euros Bowen, concerning the latter's college fees and commenting on a recent essay of his, namely 'Ar Ddifancoll', Y Llenor, 20 (1941), 189-196.

A note, 7 December 1980, from the philosopher Leopold Kohr, in a Zurich hospital, to Mrs Gwyneth Williams, widow of Prof. Jac L. Williams (f. 167). He encloses a photocopy, [1980], of a letter, dated 1 August 1979, from Sir Goronwy Daniel to Kohr, thanking him for an undisclosed suggestion (ff. 165-166).

A letter, 16 January [?1964], in Welsh, from John Wyn Owen to Goronwy Prys Owen, relating to the filming of last services at Capel Celyn, Merionethshire, in September 1963, prior to the flooding of the Tryweryn reservoir.

An apparently unpublished poem, entitled 'Pwy?' and dated 17 June 1908, by John T. Jôb, being a leaf from the autograph book of Ellen Anne Roberts (later Mrs Emrys Lewis of Creunant, Glamorgan), then of Carneddi, Bethesda, where Jôb was minister of the local chapel and a close neighbour.

An autograph letter, [?1907], from Max Beerbohm to a Mrs Mathias (possibly Ena Mathias, née Wertheimer), relating to the proposed sale to her of his second caricature sketch of the New English Art Club (1907).
He refers to his substitution of the painter W. G. de Glehn for Charles Conder in the revised painting, because of the latter's illness (f. 188).

A letter, [1959], from Bob Owen, Croesor, to the Rev. Herbert Evans, Boughton Heath, Chester, concerning the parishes of the commote of Iâl (Yale), Denbighshire, and whether or not they included Llantysilio.

A letter, 5 September 1947, from Kate Roberts to Saunders Lewis (ff. 54-55), together with his reply, 9 September 1947 (f. 56, end lacking), concerning her forthcoming radio interview with him to discuss her writing technique.
The discussion was transmitted on the Welsh Home Service of the BBC on 15 October 1947 and a transcript was subsequently published in Crefft y Stori Fer, ed. by Saunders Lewis (Llandysul, 1949). The letters are published in Dafydd Ifans, 'Annwyl Kate, Annwyl Saunders - Atodiad', National Library of Wales Journal, 29 (1995-96), 341-345.

Miscellaneous documents, [early 18 cent.]-1761, relating to Monmouthshire, probably collected by Major H. J. Lloyd-Johnes; and related papers, [mid 20 cent.].
They comprise a letter, [early 18 cent.], from Thomas Edwards of Monmouth to William Blathwayt, politician, at Whitehall, concerning the nomination of William Blethyn as sheriff of Monmouthshire (ff. 180-181), with a letter, 28 January 1955, from Myers & Co. (Booksellers), London, offering the letter for sale to H. J. Lloyd-Johnes (f. 182); a licence, 29 December 1761, sent to the Governors of Queen Anne's Bounty, granted by John Ewer, bishop of Llandaff, to John Williams, BA, to perform the office of curate at Penterry, Monmouthshire (ff. 183-184); and a quitclaim, 2 May 1711, by Robert Bayley of St Pierre, Monmouthshire, to Henry Scudamore of Treworgan, Herefordshire (f. 185), with a transcript, [mid 20 cent.] (f. 186).

A letter, 1866, from the pacifist Henry Richard ('Apostle of Peace') to the Rev. Roger Edwards, Mold, editor of Y Drysorfa (ff. 23-24); and a letter in Welsh, 1886, from the novelist Daniel Owen, probably addressed to the Rev. Ellis Edwards, Bala, concerning obituaries of the latter's father, the Rev. Roger Edwards (f. 25).
