Letters from David Howell ('Llawdden'),

Fifty-eight letters, [1875]-1902, from the Reverend D[avid] Howell ('Llawdden'), Wrexham, Gresford and St Davids, all except two to D. Silvan Evans (personal matters, the 'Geiriadur' and Lady Llanover, a letter from W. Spurrell, Carmarthen (encl.), condolences, the death of [Canon] George Griffiths, the writer's own view of public funerals, how he himself has suffered from 'cliquism', a printed hymn by the writer (encl.), etc.). The other two letters are from D. Howell to Mrs [D. Silvan] Evans, 1887 (Tegid's illness and their own anxiety about Arthur), and to Henry [Silvan Evans], 1898 (a newspaper comment on the application for a Civil List pension for the addressee's father) respectively.
