Three notebooks in the hand of Hugh Jones ('Erfyl') - (a) an account book containing board and lodging expenses, 1828-33, 1843-4, an account with the Reverend R. M. Bonnor, 1831-2, washing account, 1844, account of lessons given to 'Master Wm. Lowe', 1829-30, 1832, and 'Master Temple', undated, and a list of 'situations' held by 'Erfyl' during the period 1810-30; (b) a 'cywydd' in memory of Owen Jones ('Owain Myfyr')' and (c) transcripts of 'carolau', or parts of 'carolau', by Hugh Jones, Maesglasau ('H. J. Senr.'), Hugh Jones, Llangwm, Ellis Roberts ('y cowper'), William Edwards, Ysceifiog, Thomas Edwards ('Twm o'r Nant'), and others. Used as cover and end papers for the latter are two copies of a printed notice of a meeting of the Llanfyllin New Friendly Society, 1816.

A transcript of an interlude generally referred to as 'Einion ap Gwalchmai' and attributed to John Cadwaladr, Bala and Huw Jones, Llangwm ('Chwâryddiaeth a gyfansoddwyd fel y tybir Gan Sion o'r Bala a Huw Jones o Langwm'). The transcript was made by Rowland Vab Owen at York Mills, Oneida County, New York and is dated 18 March 1870. The source is not specified but a transcript of this manuscript with a note on the transcriber may be found in NLW MS 2629, p. 223.

A collection of 'cerddi', 'carolau', etc. by Hugh Morris, together with a 'cerdd' by Huw Jones, Llangwm, a 'cerdd' by the Reverend Walter Davies ['Gwallter Mechain'], anonymous 'englynion, 'carolau' and some financial accounts, 1805 and undated. The volume is in the hand of Huw Jones, Llangwm, with a few later additions by Elizabeth Maurice and by Mary Richards, Darowen. It belonged to Thomas Powel, 1804, and Martha Powel, 1805, and also bears the names of Henry Powel, 1756, John Jones, carpenter, Pentregayr [Oswestry] and Martha Edwards.

A composite volume, in four sections, containing annotated transcripts of 'cywyddau' and 'englynion' by Sion Philyp, Wm. Lleyn, Robert Hughes (Ceint bach, 'Rhobyn Ddu Ieuaf o Fon'), Meredydd ab Rhys, Syr Dafydd Trefor, Wm. Wynne ('person Llangynhafal'), [Evan Prichard (Richard)] 'I[euan] Lleyn' ('Ifan Bryncroes'), 'W. Eryri', Ellis Roberts, and Rhys Jones; 'carolau', 'cerddi', 'penillion', etc. in free metres by Lewis Owen, Lewis Morris, Edward Morris, Hugh Roberts, Dafydd Sion James (Dafydd Jones) ('Bookbinder o'r Penrhyn Deudraeth Y Meirion'), Ellis Roberts, Tho. Edwards, Hugh Jones ('o Langwm'), John Thomas ('o Bentre Foelas'), Rice Hughes ('o Ddinam'), Thomas Jones, Robert William, Edward Williams ('o Blwy Gwyddelwern'), Robert Lloyd, Richard Jones, Rhys Jones, and Evan James, and anonymous compositions; and incomplete interludes entitled ['Squire Gaulove a Clarinda'] by John Kadwalader and ['Y Brenin Dafydd a Gwraig Urias'] by [Hugh Jones and John Cadwaladr]. The respective sections are in the hands of Evan Prichard ('Ieuan Lleyn') (written at Llangian, Lleyn, 23-24 January 1797), David Jones ('Dewi Fardd'), Trefriw, Henry Par[r]y, Brynllech [Llanuwchllyn], and [ ] Roberts, Ty du, Parc [Llanycil].

An interleaved volume (385 pp.) belonging to J. H. Davies made up of pages from Y Traethodydd, 1886-92 ('Hen Gerddi y Cymry', a catalogue of Welsh ballads compiled by John Jones ('Myrddin Fardd'), with pages 346-50 from Revue Celtique, II (part of a supplement [by D. Silvan Evans] to Llyfryddiaeth y Cymry). There are numerous additions and annotations by J. H. Davies, including cross-references to his own Bibliography of Welsh ballads printed in the 18th century (London, 1911) and an index to the authors, etc. of the pre-1800 ballads in the 'Myrddin Fardd' catalogue. The numbers used in the index correspond to the numbers in the 'Myrddin Fardd' catalogue while the page references are to the pages in the present volume. Loose inside are a list of ballads, etc. by Thomas Edwards ('Twm o'r Nant'), Hugh Jones, Llangwm and Ellis Roberts, with number or page references as before, and a letter, 1908, from D. Rhys Phillips, Swansea to [J. H. Davies] (jottings on three Shrewsbury 'effusions').

A manuscript index to J. H. Davies (ed.), The Letters of Lewis, Richard, William and John Morris of Anglesey (Morrisiaid Môn) (Aberystwyth, 1907-9) compiled for J. H. Davies by T. Vaughan Roberts, London and completed in 1911. The general index (420 pp.) is followed by lists of 'Words and phrases characteristic of the Morrises or illustrating forms commonly used by them' and 'Books, Pamphlets, Manuscripts & Poems referred to', references to 'Trades & Professions', and a number of corrections. Other items ('Removed from the manuscript before it was sent to Mr Jenkin James, January 7, 1931') consist of a letter, 1911, from the compiler, T. Vaughan Roberts to J. H. Davies, and a letter, 1902, from John Ballinger, Cardiff to J. H. Davies enclosing notes and items of verse (mainly by Lewis Morris) copied by J. Ifano Jones from 'an imperfect copy of Dr John Davies's Dictionary, 1632, once the property of Lewis Morris' and from copies of [Huw Jones], Diddanwch Teuluaidd (Llundain, 1763) which belonged to John William Prichard, Plas-y-brain and Nicholas Bennett respectively.

Miscellaneous papers and booklets or note-books containing notes, lists, transcripts, etc., in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') bound together in one volume. The contents include, pagination in brackets, a list of one hundred and sixty-one items headed 'Welsh MSS. in the Possession of E[dward] Williams ['Iolo Morganwg']. Transcripts' (1-13); a list of thirty-one items headed 'Hen Ysgriflyfrau' being apparently manuscript volumes in the aforementioned Edward Williams’'s possession (15-16; many of these items can be identified amongst the Llanover manuscripts now being described); a list of titles of ? 'cywyddau' with numbers, poets' names, and page references headed 'MS. at Revd. Mr. Peter Williams', etc. (17-19); a list of the titles and / or first lines of forty-four 'cywyddau' and 'awdlau' under the name H[ywel ap] D[afydd ap] I[euan ap] Rhys and of two 'awdlau' under the name Gwilym Tew with page references, these corresponding to the pagination of transcripts of poems with the same titles or first lines by these poets (excepting one by Bedo Brwynllys to the said Hywel Dafydd) in Cwrt Mawr MS 12 in the National Library of Wales (20-24); a list of the titles of ? The collection, which bears the title 'Sain yr Utgorn', appears to have been intended for publication by Robert Jones at Welshpool.
