Ganwyd y Parch. Lewis Haydn Lewis (1903-1985), bardd, yn Aberaeron, Ceredigion, a chafodd ei addysg yng Ngholeg Prifysgol Cymru, Aberystwyth, a Choleg Exeter, Rhydychen. Yr oedd yn weinidog gyda'r Presbyteriaid ym Mhontarfynach, Ceredigion, hyd 1935, ac yna yn Nhonpentre, Morgannwg, hyd ei ymddeoliad yn 1973, ond y mae'n fwy adnabyddus fel bardd. Enillodd y Goron yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yn 1961 a 1968, a chyhoeddodd bedair cyfrol o gerddi. Yn ogystal, daeth i'w feddiant rhai o bapurau ei dad, a fu farw yn 1923 yn dilyn gyrfa fel capten agerlong.
